“Excellent customer service ”

From starting negotiations to buy a new caravan over a year ago we have been highly delighted with the service of everyone we have talked to. We had a few small warranty problems these have all been dealt with without any drama. When we have rung for help the appropriate person has rung back and each time given useful tips. We have just had the caravan in for it’s first service. Again no fuss just good service. Well done Wanderhome keep up the good work.

“DISGRACEFUL AFTER SALES SERVICE NONE EXISTENT”

Bought a motor home costing £58,000 in only May, The motor home has been back for the second time, I have done nothing but chase the after sales service department who I might add are always under staffed for a large company.My motor home is still back there two weeks later We have called and asked for an update and still not one phone call back from them, I have now put in an official complaint. I have wasted 7 hours without pay driving back and forth and explaining myself of the problems. I am now looking into legal advise as The motor home is still under 1 years warranty.If you want any source of after sales service DO NOT USE WANDER HOME AT BROUGH I would of wanted to know that more than one person who deals with after sales would be available to deal with any issues, she is the one who deals with issues poorly as does Wander home. Please follow this review as I have evidence to support my experience

“Where can I start!”

Everything to do with this company is dreadful, but they don't seem to worry about bad reviews as just carry on as is and get away with it. We bought a brand new Fleurette Migrateur (Pop top) at a cost of £82,000. It was on show at the Birmingham motorhome show and collected said vehicle in May 2023. I can honestly say if I knew what all I know now I would never have bought it. The service I have received since (or should I say lack of service) has been non-existent. There have been so many things wrong with this motorhome but all we get from Wandahome (South Cave) is bring it back to us to look into. We live in Surrey so to travel to Hull which would take us at least 5 hours each way (if we are lucky with traffic and no accidents) not forgetting petrol costs etc. So each time a problem occurred we would have to go back to Hull. I cannot list all the problems, there are far too many. Just driving home from Hull in camper the overhead cupboards kept opening all the time during the drive (can you imagine if we had items in them), No gas hose supplied, manual keys for habitation door did not work, they said put WD40 in lock (still did not work), blinds on front windscreen nothing to hold them together when close, light on pop-top does not work, bathroom toilet door does not close properly, control button for electric cooker fallen off (before ever even using it), back bed under storage the timber that supports the bed broke off. Why did Wandahome release this vehicle to me without carrying out a full inspection on this vehicle before handing it over. I could carry on & on, their website state NCC approved workshop but we have tried to use any that are more local to us but were advised only Wandahome can do any servicing/warranty. I have had motorhomes since the early 1970s, Hymers, Rapido, Burstner etc and have never experienced such problems like this. Wandahome have shown no genuine concern whatsoever in sorting out said problems, all they keep saying is bring it back to Hull. Absolutely terrible company.

“Excellent support throughout ”

We have had excellent support during a very difficult to solve warranty issue. She also worked tirelessly to help with other warranty issues and we cannot thank her enough for her patience and dilligence over a three month period to resolve the problem.I cannot fault the support we have been given every step of the way.

“Terrible Place Buy Elsewhere with People Who Care”

Please read my google review as for some reason I cannot post it through here. Just be aware of the problems and they way in which they treat their customers! Go elsewhere to dealers that are there not just to make a quick profit and actually have the customers best interest to heart

Tried to buy a motorhome, but I found that the person selling was not really interested. I tried several times during the process to contact the salesperson but he was never available and when I left messages to ring me it was either after many hours and on the last occasion not at all. Consequently I've bought from elsewhere

“Second hand caravan sales ”

Having caravanned for over thirty years and bought both new and old caravans from a number of different dealers and private sales my time at wandahome south cave was the worst experience I have ever had when I got there I parked my part exchange where they asked me to put and after a short wait told to see another person who is a eighty year old man who does the caravan check and hand over when quickly checking the caravan I found there was no gas pig electric hook up cable no ends to connect the battery and no step supplied I was told to take them of my own caravan while doing this the hand over guy kept disappearing to help other people all in all it took over two hours to get caravan sorted and was left in the office to sort the paperwork out again a long time I had to go and try and find someone after sorting this where I was informed I had to pay and sort the cris register for the caravan it was the last straw I was then told he would come over to help connect the caravan to the car but never came so I hooked up and left a very disappointed customer who never use them again and would not recommend anyone to buy from them

“God send”

After 4 months of stress and anxiety over the theft of our new caravan, we were on the lookout for a new replacement and after putting a deposit on a new Caravan from a company in Bawtry we were shocked to find the Insurance company were going to under pay us by £4500, so we now had to go back to the Company in bawtry and ask if they could help but we were met with a firm NO and if we couldn't raise the extra £4500 we would loose our deposit, and this just added to our stress levels. So a week ago I found good price to get a new caravan of the same make and year of our previous caravan from WANDAHOMES South Cave and when I enquired about it I was informed by one of the sales team that there was another £500 of the already discounted price which was a big bonus! So we went back to bawtry to see if they would price match and once again the Answer was no chance as the wouldn't be making a profit, so intended end we took our business to Wandahome and got a fantastic deal, Alltwen team are fantastic and will do anything to help even letting us stay overnight in our new caravan on their lovely little park at the side of the business till the payment cleared. All in all we lost a deposit off £300 from our original caravan company in bawtry but gained way more than that with the delays we got from the team at WANDAHOME CARAVANS AND MOTORHOMES,SOUTH CAVE Thanks once again and we will be recommending family and friends in the future.

The 5 stars now go to a customer service assistant in the Motorhome service Department who as brought about a much better customer orientated service.

Just wanted to say what an excellent experience we have received on the purchase of our new caravan, starting off from when we first visited back in April and ordered our new caravan, to finally picking up the new van, this weekend and even though there was a little hitch with our van we were part exchanging from the previous dealer. The advisor was great to deal with and we felt like we were so well looked after and we managed to get everything sorted. We stayed the night on the site which is there, he was brilliant setting the new caravan up for us and take us through everything and helped us on the day we left as well. A couple of snags with the new Caravan but feel like they have been dealt with as due to Caravan makers not Wandahome with professionals who care about their customers and want everything to be perfect. Wandahome is nearly two hours from where we live but so pleased to have found them and to have bought our new caravan from them. Thanks for making this a good experience.

I just picked up my new Motorhome from Wandahome (South Cave), i don't know where to start, as what a wonderful Team they have their, so much help from them & friendly Team to deal with, glad i drove 7 hours to collect, this has been the best experience i have ever had when buying a new Car or Motorhome, so Friendly from Sales to Service staff,  just nothing gets them down, dropped everything to help myself & my wife, I will be recommending them to friends on Caravans & Motorhomes that's for sure, thanks again Guys & hopefully see you all in the near future.

“Prioritise your safety and buy elsewhere”

Bought a new Amunsen van. Waited over a year before it was delivered. When we took delivery we were concerned about how they had fitted the refillable Gaslow system that we had requested. Therefore, we asked the Gaslow HQ what they thought and also took the van to an independant fitter for their opinion. Both said the fitting did not meet safety standards and was potentially hazardous to us / van users. We had to have Gaslow system removed by Wandahome and replaced with a different system. We submitted a formal complaint, but the response from Wandahome indicated that they thought they had done anything wrong and gave us no apology. Interesting, Wandahome now do not fit this refillable system in their campervans. My advice is to prioritise your own safety and that of your family and get your van somewhere else.

“Beware of this Company! ”

I could write an essay about the terrible customer service from Wandahome South Cave- which is non-existent. I wish I had done due diligence on this company, hard to find reviews on them though, nothing on Trustpilot or Feefo, they don’t even have the option to leave reviews on their Facebook profile- ask yourselves why?? We ordered a new caravan end of August 21 told it would be ready end of March, build date was put back and put back rang to be told expect to be built In June, we cancelled as we had missed out on bookings and still had no definitive date for delivery- BUT they won’t refund our deposit as they have it written into their contract that delivery dates are not guaranteed Even the credit card company couldn’t get them to refund we were basically expected to wait forever for a van that hadn’t been built, the salesman sneered at me and said- you won’t get your money back- We are now in the process of taking them to court. Do Not Give these people your hard earned money- they don’t care about you ! They are turning over millions of pounds( look at companies house) directors awarded six figure sums.

Did you not read your t&c’s when making your deposit? ALL dealerships are in the same situation whereas a pandemic and supply chain problems has caused a massive problem along with a huge demand for caravans due to staycations.
You would have not been the only person in this situation on delays but you chose to cancel.

Excuse me whilst I get out a small violin- these poor caravan dealerships are making an absolute fortune out of the pandemic but the customer has to just wait over 12 MONTHS! They should be being honest instead of pure greed taking deposits when they know there is not a hope of it being delivered in time

Been there, bought the t shirt when buying a motorhome, told i coudnt get my 5k deposit back, several salesmen later, still no luck so went to small claims, paperwork landed on there desk, 5k plus court costs later back in my account, wont be going back there in a hurry, sorry, wont be going back at all !!!

I’m so glad you got your money back- fantastic! We were £1k out of pocket, legal advisor said we had signed a contract so unlikely to get our money and would end up even more out of pocket which we didn’t want, it’s probably too late now for us to try the claims court

Did you get your money back? I’ve been told the same by them and thinking I will need to take them to court. They haven’t been able to deliver the Van I ordered due to production issues and are refusing me the right to purchase a second hand one instead as there is possibly another 6 month wait and I need it sooner than that. It’s shocking customer service and really unfriendly staff. I agree don’t waste your money go with another dealer.

No we didn’t get our deposit back, I’ve spoken to citizens advice and they have suggested arbitration before taking them to court. I now will have to contact them to start the ball rolling, if they still refuse I have the option of reporting them to their caravan club or affiliated body they are a member of, but likely It will be a waste of time as they will just say the fact they lied about the delivery date doesn’t matter as we cancelled. They make me feel sick, this whole incident nearly caused a divorce! Can’t even mention caravans now - will never set foot in a caravan dealers again

“A new Bailey Caravan”

I won't go on about my experience of Wandahome in South Cave but will be brief. Bought a brand new Bailey Phoenix last year and within 6 months parts of the floor had 80% damp apparently due to not being sealed properly at the factory. Unfortunately we were in lockdown when this discovered so it couldn't go back to Wandahome but I didn't find them very helpful. Bailey weren't much more supportive either. Sold it at a huge loss last summer due to the stress it was causing and would never buy a Bailey again.

After the heater system failed on my new Sprite major I contacted the service department after an initial mix up with phone numbers I was contacted by a service technician who after discussing fault codes which were displayed he advised me to take my caravan in Wandahome. On my arrival i met the service technician who advised me that he would atempt to rectify the fault while I waited. Indeed the fault and another couple of faults was repaired while I waited. So fantastic customer service and many thanks

“Aftershaves "you are joking"”

Wasted ages trying to contact them with issues with the van. They stuck a sticker on saying 2021 service had been done. But no paperwork with it or stamp in service book. Sent pdi check instead which was not correct as we did not have a solar panel on at all. Told us because they could not get a spare steady to replace damaged one until October it would be after our warranty had run out so would not be covered, which is wrong and illegal to suggest my local citizens advice and trading standards say. Told them where they could access the spare from, grudgingly agreed to source one for us. Do not buy from them please.

“They will mislead you”

I bought a 2nd hand motorhome from them. The salesman pointed out the refillable gas system. I paid 2k deposit. I then at a later date brought my pix in and paid the remainder of the balance. There was no mention of the gas system being removed. When I picked up the van, the refillable gas system had been removed. They wanted to charge me £600 for a new one fitting. There response by letter was a total fabrication of events. We are now going to take them to court.

I put a £500 deposit on a touring caravan from these people then tried to cancel 2 days later only to be told I will not be able to get my £500 back, no 14 day cooling off period or anything. What are my rights?
