I asked Longtons Chorley for a valuation for my caravan. On the phone a Glass’s guide price of £4400 was quoted subject to inspection. When I brought the caravan to be inspected later in the day an employee looked at the caravan. The result of this inspection was, and I quote “this caravan is not for us. The scratches on the side will require a panel respray and the caravan smells strongly of dog which is difficult to get rid of.” I was offered £3000 which I accepted.
The caravan was on sale, in exactly the same condition five days later , for £6695.

After discounting the caravan by £1200 which is what we do on every window price, carrying out a panel repair which incurred a £800 internal charge and days of intense valeting we would have managed to sell your caravan...
The difference between Trade and Retail prices in glasses guide (which is industry wide) is between £2000-£3000. We therefore didn't earn as much as we normally have to on your caravan to keep our establishment running.
We suggest next time you describe your caravan correctly in order to get a true valuation. We do not appreciate slander towards our honest family run company.
