kia picanto, 1.2. 2013 plate, the missus got the car and realised almost immediately it was 6000MILES overdue a service, and the clutch seemed odd, a few days after, the clutch is slipping, badly, so its gone in for a full service and new clutch, HOW WERE THESE MAJOR AND EASILY IDENTIFIABLE FAULTS NOT SEEN? the usb was faulty also, the servicing was described as partial, it appears to have had ONE service in 44000 miles!! the oil was filthy, (done 16000 miles instead of 10000!)so, we
got the car back after 2 days, and its not right, (I'm a vosa mot tester so I know about cars, I only wish I had gone with her to buy it))the clutch has 2 inch of play and is totally out of adjustment, it will not last over a month, the pedal hits the floor, this is way out of order, we now have no trust in the car nor the car people, doesn't seem like they have checked the paperwork, nor anything mechanically, the guy who delivered the car back to us didn't even notice the poor clutch, , its going down to the garage for a full mot check after it comes back, and its trading standards if we get it back faulty again, an abysmal service. ,the sales team have tried to sort it, (but they missed the out of service by 6000 miles on the paperwork)the checks on the car appear to have been none existant.. terrible service

Thank you for your recent review of The Car People, we are always disappointed to hear when a customer is not happy with their experience and the service received. I can see that from your order the car was advertised and sold with partial service history. I can also see that you raised a query previously regarding the servicing of your new car as our inspection team had decided the car only needed an inspection not a service based on previous service data. It was decided after you raised your concerns to offer to service the car to alleviate your concerns.
I can also see that between your collection and the date mutually agreed for the vehicle to return to us for a service you felt the clutch was not operating as it should, subsequently we checked the operation of the clutch during the service and were in agreement with yourselves that it was beginning to slip and a new clutch was fitted under our courtesy warranty. It appears that on the day the car was completed and delivered back to yourselves you contacted us to say there was still a fault with the clutch, we immediately returned to collect the car and return our courtesy vehicle so this could be checked. Upon inspection it was found there was no fault with the new clutch and after a test drive with one of our sales managers to confirm this the car was returned to yourselves. We hope the unforeseen issues that occurred so soon after your collection have now been rectified to your satisfaction and your new car will provide you with many miles of trouble free motoring.

Regards
Paul
