I had a broken exhaust pipe 300 miles from home late on Saturday evening. Stopped at Halfords to see if they could do anything for me. The assistant, who unfortunately must be nameless, was brilliant. He came out to look at the exhaust and tried to think about what he could do temporarily but there was nothing he could do. My mobile was out of charge so he let me phone the AA from the shop phone. He kept an eye on the situation until the AA man came. In the meantime he checked my oil level for me, then the oil type, got me the best price oil and topped it up as I was clueless. I don't know if I should say this but he let me charge up my phone while I was waiting, just in case the AA repair didn't last and I had to call the AA again on my onward journey. What a hero!
