When my gearbox failed I looked online and read mixed reviews for Autoprotect so I was unsure if I would ever get my claim paid however this is a positive story. I purchased the Gold warranty for £250 from an independent garage when I bought a Grand Voyage 08 plate. Within a few weeks the gearbox failed. I contacted Auto Protect immediately from the AA van and was informed that I could take it to an independent garage of my choice and they explained the process. The garage liaised with Auto protect which as far as I can tell went soothly. The assessor was out within 2 working days and submitted their report within 1 working day. The decision to provide a claims number took 2 days. I called before paying the garage bill to confirm the details I should have on the garages invoice and submitted the invoice. The cheque was in my hand within the stated 7 days. The best £250 I ever spent.
