“Avoid at all costs”

If you have anything larger than a pin head mark on your vehicle I would advise that you do not let Auto Restore near it. I now understand why Hastings Direct offer so cheap car insurance. It is 18 months since Auto Restore started work on my car and I am still not satisfied. I have taken countless days off work which seems to go against the promise of being able to fix your car on the drive as it’s convenient to you. The engineers that come to undertake the work are rude - swearing seems to be a pre requisite to work for this company. The customer service department are extremely unhelpful and when you say you are not satisfied with the work they take you to court for the excess - which is what they did to me. So 18 months later my car is still not as it was and there is paint in my drive as well as in the footpath outside my property.

I thought working for part of this company that the work would be good.but after being bodged 1st time and getting them back out for second appointment and it ended up worst this time . Terrible service from them they wanna do it 3rd time!!! Off to the dealer we go and the bill is coming your way. How wrong you have got it. For chips/scratch gutted!!!

I got quotes from several companies for fixing a large dent in my car. Not only were autorestore significantly cheaper than the others, they were the only ones able to complete the work in one day. Communication was friendly and efficient throughout the process and the work was completed to a high standard.

“Never arrived to do the work”

A COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!!!!! I don't often write reviews, but this was pretty rubbish so feel like I should warn people. Had organised a day off work to be available for the body work repairs. They cancelled the appointment 30mins before the engineer was supposed to turn up. Told me they would call back within 2 hours to see if there was anyone else available to do the job. Never called back. I then called them to find out what was going on to be told that they didn't have a booking for me and there must be an error in the system, I then told them they called me about 2 hours ago. After another a hour found out no one would be turning up.

“Very poor service, visits cancelled twice at short notice”

In theory this company seemed a great idea, repairs done on your own drive without having to take your vehicle into a body shop. I sent some photos of the damage in and was very impressed by how quickly I received a quote for the work so I immediately made a booking, I was a bit disappointed with the three week wait but still happy to give the company a go. Unfortunately my booking was cancelled on the morning the technician was due to arrive! I was told it was because the technicians own vehicle had broken down. Well these things do happen so I booked in again, even through it would be another three week wait, apparently I couldnt be fitted in earlier, despite having been let down at such short notice. Unfortunately my second visit was also cancelled, the day before the technician was due to arrive as apparently he was now unavailable. Autorestore offered to book me in for a third time but not until another 2 weeks. Obviously I declined. Terrible service, avoid this company.

“Door repair ”

He did a fantastic job on repairing my wife's car door there was a dent and a 1 ft scratch damaged by mr / Mrs nobody on asda car park with a trolley Asda Accrington on Saturday 2nd June but Asda will not put cctv Cameras or will not show customer any evidence of damage to vehicles. your repair on my wife car was first class you would never know that the door was damaged.Thank you again for your first class service. Please reward him for is services to your company,he is an assist to your company. Kind regards

“Rip off merchants hiding behind the insurance industry”

If they encourage you to use their mobile repair service be aware they'll charge you £150 for sending someone out. They'll do this regardless of the value of the works you're having done even if you've provided photos showing work of a low value. They don't make you aware of the cost of their mobile repair service up front, and they hide their charges by only providing a total cost on their invoices and not a cost breakdown. In other words they are not transparent with their pricing and value for money for customers is clearly not at the heart of their business. If you're in the position where other parties are involved, ie an insurance company or leasing company, and you try to challenge them they'll fob you off by telling you it's the other party's fault Autorestore have charged you so much as if flexibility to do the right thing doesn't exist because your money has been spent at the instruction of a third party. Avoid like the plague unless you have money to burn.

“HARASSMENT - VERY BAD SERVICE”

Had a non-fault claim through 1 central insurance over a year ago. This company keeps chasing me for access of £450 despite 1st central informing them that its a non-fault. got a call today from a very ill mannered person withholding their number treatening legal and CCJ despite knowing they should not be contacting me and telling them i am ill. 1st Central are on it but now I am taking it further for harassment and lack of duty of care. STAY WELL AWAY

“Customer service rubbish”

After a slight none fault collision,we were contacted by our insurance company and told Auto Restore would deal with our repair.Auto Restore called us for details of the damage and were given an appointment 2 days later.The technician arrived on time and carried out a check on the damage.He noticed that the nearside headlight had damage as well as clips holding the wing in place. He ordered the parts immediately and carried out a partial repair to get the car mobile.The technician was excellent.Customer service sent an email giving a date and time the following Monday for the repairs to be completed.I waited in all day,eventually after I phoned them I was told that the technician was busy on another job and wouldn't be coming,but would be there tomorrow.Another email arrived stating this.I waited in all day,eventually phoning customer service only to be told that the wrong part had been sent.Frustrated,I asked to speak to a manager,who said it would be another 2 days to get the parts.After explaining that this wasn't good enough,he eventually agreed to finish the work next day,which happened.Since then I have received phone calls from customer service on voicemail asking me to call back to discuss the issues I have.I returned the calls only to be told that the woman dealing with the case was busy but would call me back.I asked if she would call in the afternoon not the morning and I'm still waiting.It took a week,5 email's,4 phone calls and a technician to attend twice,to change a headlight and clip a wing back in place,all due to inadequate customer service.

“left sitting in a car park for nearly two hrs by...”

Auto restore is absolutely unreliable and a waste of time. Was told that a technician would be with me to inspect my car at 4 pm and needed approx 2 hours to look at a scratch,shocking!!. Was told I needed to be in a car park type location, turned up with my car in the car park at 3.55pm, auto restore did not arrive, no phone call nothing I was left practically stranded. Contacted auto restore was told that the technician will be with me within the hour from the time of my call..as he was stuck on another job, auto restore did not arrive. No one called me until I contacted my insurers who got onto auto restore. Auto restore then called to say that the technician phone is unavailable and they don't know when they will be able to get hold of him.....what the !really.....The technician should have been with me an hour and a half ago,sorry we can offer you another appointment. No thank you auto restore. Consumers beware when your insurers accident repair contractors offer you to have your repair done by a mobile repair company "autorestore" auto reject the offer immediately; as u may also be waiting for hrs.

Where is my car? Macclesfield garage called me yesterday to inform me that after 8 days a small dint and scratch over the wheel arch was finished and ready. You confirmed my address for delivery. Yet after waiting in all day, having no missed calls and not being able to contact yourselves my car is still not here. My insurance have tried to support me as obviously they are concerned too. They have confirmed you have been taken over by Gemini, over night and 'things have gone pear shaped'. You own call centre are under supported and have no information or even a correct telephone number or apparently supervision. This company doesn't value customers or their staff!

“Shocking Service ”

I had a small bump in my Mercedes Benz, I called my insurance company to sort this out and they put me through to Auto Restore, in the first instance they were quick to react, calling me within 20minutes of the claim going too them. They asked for photos which I sent, then they booked a tech guy to repair the damage at my work place ( great i thought) tow days before the start date i was informed that they had looked at the photos again and the car would need to go in the garage to be repaired, this was booked in for 2 weeks later. On the day of collection the driver came with the hire car (what can only be described as a filthy unvaleted car) he took my car away and said that they normally take 8 days to repair a car. Eight days in and still no word from the garage, i called the garage to only be told that they had surveyed my car the day previous and that the work was due to start that morning ( not happy) I was driving around in 1.2 litre, filthy car, seeing customers in this car was embarrassing, the seats were stained the interior had not seen a hoover for years and the out side off the car was damaged and un washed. I complained to my insurance company, who placed pressure on Auto Restore Rotherham, and then two days later my car was ready ( a little strange) The car was meant to be returned fully valeted inside and out ? well it was not there was dust all over the interior and the car outside looked like it had been washed with a dirty sponge, i complained and the girl on the reception stated that because I had pushed for completion they had to rush the valet ( brilliant service). One month on and the paint has started to flake of the door the door handle has started to come loose and the all round job is very poor. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY IF YOU CAN AVOID IT

Avoid at all costs if you can! I was advised by company insurance they would come out to home and repair company car after it had been damaged on the front wing. Had to wait over two weeks before they could come so that looked great driving around in a damaged car to see customers! Then the day before they called to confirm an engineer would be with me first thing on the Thursday morning between 8-9, On the Thursday morning I received a text from the engineer advising he was on his way and would be with me in an hour, 45 minutes later the engineer called to say actually he wasn't going to come now as he had a sore throat and wouldn't be able to give his BEST!! so had turned around to go back home, I asked why he couldn't still do the repair as he surely was almost here now and the repair I was told would only take a couple of hours and his reply.....I don't get paid enough! I then had to waste the next 3 hours calling call centres, managers etc. to try and have someone sort something, that's right, I had to ring them to resolve! Eventually I spoke with a manager who confirmed they had no one else available and I would now have to wait 3 more weeks for someone to attend again! Lets just hope they don't get a sore throat, absolutely shocking! Probably the only reason they are still in business is they do a lot of insurance work directly for insurance companies as appose to consumers who would have a choice as to who they go to spend their money with.

“Bad service”

On first contact, the company were quicck to respond. I was instructed to take pictures of the damage and forward on to them. After afew iccups the photos were sent. They said they were ok and arranged a day for someone to call and put right and the car would be out of action for 4 to 6 hrs for work to be completed. So took a day off work to accommdate. On the day the guys never turned up so i contacted the company who informed me that his morning appointment had taken longer than expected. When he did arrive at 4pm only took photos and left. Again spoke to company who wasnt really interested and again booked me in for repairs. 2 days before appointment i got a email assking for pictures as they didnt have any. Yet another call and sorted. On arrival of the tect for the second time took some more photos and informed me that he couldnt do the work and it would have to go in to a garage. This all took 4 weeks and no better than day one. The service i recieved was appalling and i had to do all the chaseing. I wouldnt reccommend this company to anyone. I drive a company car so didnt mind the delay but i would never have this company to deal with my own car.

“Laurel and Hardy continued”

So as stated in the laurel and hardy saga. 9th April (3 month anniversary date of car being repaired) arrived to find additional damage to rear bumper and passenger rear door. Tried to drive car away from the garage and broke down 30 yards away. If your insurance company says autorestore. Spray them with holy water show them a crucifix and make sure you have plenty of garlic cloves the spawn of Satan will suck you dry emotionally on the roller coaster ride of bodging repairs.

Had my car delivered back from repair after an accident. I was extremely pleased with the new bumper and parking sensors installed, my car boot was also fixed so it can be closed easily. Auto Restore also cleaned my car inside & out, carried out mechanical inspection. From day one, all communication I received were clear, friendly and professional. Exceeded my expectation by miles!
