On a comparison website they are one of the cheapest and for good reason. They make additional costs and charges you can do nothing about.
Having taken insurance with them they later ask for copies of driving licences, access to your licence at Swansea and a V5 registration.
Having sent the licence details through they charged £20 as my wife passed her test 19 years ago and not the 17 I said.
I could not send in the V5 as I was awaiting it to come back from Swansea in my name and I explained this on the phone and in e mails. I did send them a copy of the portion I had but they would not accept me.
They cancelled my insurance because I had not sent the V5 and did not tell me until 3 days later (I was driving with no insurance and they were aiding and abetting me).
They charged me £45 for cancellation.
Incidentally the V5 got back from Swansea to me and I sent a copy to them. It was only after this they told me the insurance was cancelled.
All letters from them took 11 days to reach me (looking at the date on them and when they arrived) and I suspect these dates are back dated to make them look like they were sent out sometime ago.
I now have problems getting insurance because of the cancellation by them.
I am taking the matter to the FSA and if there is no luck i will take the matter to the courts. They are not getting away with it.
If I could give them a minus score I would.

Hi,
I am sorry to see you have had a poor experience. We have to request this information for regulatory reasons. However, if you were not informed of your cancellation you will have grounds for a complaint.

The V5 is not part of the regulations and no other company asks for it. A 10 second check online would give the same result.
