“Utter Rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

Disappointed from the day I took out the policy so now cancelled.
I have just cancelled my policy after approx. 20 months with Adrian Flux. So I thought I would post a review.

Good Points
1. Polite Customer service
Bad Points.
1. When I purchased insurance with Adrian Flux I had to chase on a couple of occasions for my tax disc. Took a couple of months to receive.
2. Due to the fact I was driving around with no tax disc I was handed a notice to attend my local parish hall. Luckily for me I emailed a further chaser a couple of days before given notice of the parish hall. However this didn't stop me from getting anxious and stressed about attending.
3. When I received my tax disc it was for the incorrect person and vehicle. I then had to wait several more days for the correct tax disc.
4. My insurance was up for renewal at the same time I moved property. However as I moved property (approx. 2 miles down the road) my insurance went up by £120.00 per year. Was advised that this can happen. I live on an island 9 miles by 4!
5. I was involved in an accident on 1st August. Provided my version of events and the evidence I could. When I went to cancel my insurance on the 25th Nov I was told that there was the outstanding claim against my insurance dating back to the 1st Aug. I've never been updated on the outstanding claim since the initial reporting. I had presumed it was closed off because the accident took place almost 4 months earlier.
6. On the 25th Nov I was told that as I'm cancelling my insurance I would have to pay the outstanding premium of £212 to cancel as the outstanding claim is still open. Decided not to cancel until I could speak to the claims department.
7. After speaking to the claims department I found out that partial payment was paid out for the damage to the other vehicle. (Slightest damage but different story) I was never informed about this until I took the initiative to contact the claims department. The pay-out was for minimal amount (£740, book value of car as over 20 years old). After speaking with friends they told me that the insurance company should have contacted me first and asked if I wanted to make the pay-out myself in order to keep my no claims. Unfortunately I was never given this option and now lose my no claims.
8. Today 4th Dec I decided to cancel my insurance and pay the £212. I was advised that I may be due a refund (partial/full) once the claim has been closed, however this could go on for months.
9. When I spoke to the lady on the phone I was asked for a reason why I was cancelling. I advised it was because I have received significantly cheaper Insurance elsewhere and not happy with the service I have received to date. I was asked if I wanted to speak to someone about a price matching offer. During my previous telephone conversations regarding cancelling insurance this offer was never mentioned to me. If it was I would have considered staying and not have to pay the £212 cancellation fee.

So disappointed with the lack of communication, transparency, hidden costs and underlining processes followed by Adrian Flux.
