Incredibly poor customer service and callback facility doesn’t work. At every stage, the company’s admin has failed, commitments to call me back have been met, there’s no supervisor to speak with and you can’t speak to the complaints team. They cancelled my insurance because of their admin mistake and as they won’t speak with me, I now have to pursue this with the Ombusman to simply get a response. Be aware apart from the frustration this company will cause you, their poor admin and service will cost you money.

collected car for glass repair after an attempted lifting - sold it for profit with its entire content, did not communicate that this had happened and pretended car was being repaired. Not settled the claim after 4 months to the incident. should have FCA licence removed and be investigated

Went through comparison site for my car insurance Acorn come up cheapest not by a lot but thought oh well it's cheapest so Went with it, what a fool I was anyway paid £260 deposit followed by £124 per month in 11 installments. I uploaded my driving licence and proof of 2yrs no claims via there chappy portal system online, anyway I got email back saying thank you for uploading docs and left it at that. 1 week later out of blue I gets an email saying thank you for updating your policy and we have made changes to your account???? With an additional £266.00 to be added????? So I contacted them straight away to be told quite abruptly that yes they have added an additional £266 to my annual premium due to not receiving proof of my ncd?? I argued that I had and said I had sent it but naaaa old chip on his shoulder wasn't having none of it so told me to upload again?? I went on portal and because I had already uploaded my docs there wasn't an option to do this so called back where I was given a unmanned email address which straight away I sent proof again!! I called then within 1hr to be told na sorry nothing?? Now I'm starting to lose it as I've sent it all off so sent it again now 2nd email?? Again called them 1hr later to be told yes we have received an email from you however the proof needs to be sent in a PDF Format???? Now I'm really starting to lose it so I calls my old insurance company who find it quite bizarre but agreed to resend it to me in PDF Format! Which I received then forwarded it straight away again to Acorn. Again I calls them 1hr later then to be told yes received it just hold the line for 2mins?? 29mins later she comes back to me and guess what? I've had word with my manager and sorry we can't accept this due to no issue date on the proof?????? Wtaf???? So now I gotta get back in touch again with previous company to ask them to send proof like a letter?? Its bloody pathetic if you ask me but these lot are an absolute sham nitemare so please avoid and go with someone else

Do not use!!!!!!! Terrible company to deal with, my first experience with commercial insurance and let down greatly by Acorn. I used a comparison site and did not realise that I could not use my ncb on the van. After 10 days of calling several times and providing various proof of ncb only to be told each time “no that’s not quite the right format” I eventually got a member of there team that said “no sorry you can’t do that! And now it’s to late to cancel your policy without paying £200 for the privilege- now there complaints department after 7 weeks say as a gesture of goodwill you can cancel for £100!!! £421 added to my annual premium- please go elsewhere where they don’t trick you when you are trying to start a business

Do not use this company! Acorn Insurance take your money and when they owe you refunds they refuse to pay it just because they want the money, they do not even keep to their terms and conditions that are set when you read them. They seem to be a law into themselves because due to not giving my partner the refund they owe him it has now resulted in my family struggling to pay for food, rent and the bills, and I have a newborn and a 3 year old to feed which I cannot do. This company just takes your money and fills your life with more problems so just on the safe side do not go with these people they aren’t a trusted company what so ever.

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!! Cancelled my insurance as I did not respond to a posted letter in 7 days when I was in fact far away from home caring for a friend with a brain injury and her 5 kids. Took my deposit and will not pay it back leaving me stranded with no insurance very far from home in a rural community. No money to buy new insurance and unable to provide proper much needed care to a family in a very desperate situation! I was promised a bacs payment of £80ish (a fraction of the £179 deposit I paid) within the hour. Days later and multiple phone and Web chats later only to be shoved from pillar to posst and told various different time frames of pending payment. 1hr, 24hrs, 2-5 days, and then finally 3-10 days. All the while I'm stranded unable to secure new insurance or get home to my own children. Absolutely no care or empathy for the desperate situation this company have left us in. No problems in taking my £179 cash upfront though, only to be cancelled 7 days later for non corporation by not answering a posted letter! Are you joking! It's 2022 have you never heard of email or a telephone What's next, correspondence by smoke signals? A handy fleet of carrier pigeons? I'd honestly have had a better chance of answering their queries that way for goodness sakes! Be warned if you take insurance from acorn be sure your are not staying far from home for any more than 7days and possibly brush up on your morse code just incase they use another outdated method of communication! This company is clearly here to trick you out of your hard earned cash. Sign up at your own peril. Read the reviews a plenty and don't be as daft as I was!

The most terrible company I have ever experienced took my money for policy and then they chose to cancel my policy and not refund me any money for months and months. Still have not recieved a full refund of money owed by them. Absolutely disgusting

Do not go near this company, they say that they are a insurance company !! They aren't ! They are brokers. Anything you need from them if you have a policy with them they will charge you and they will make sure to blame it on the real company heavens and the "system". I am a customer that has 2 more month of the policy and i am just sick of paying them always money for no real reason. They haven't done anything other then just take my money. If i had enough money i wont go to court.

Disgrace of a insurance company I have spent 3 weeks trying to speak to a manager after I paid my insurance and was told I hadn't i have sent proof and it's still not acceptable this has happened every month for the last 6 months then they don't understand what's going on like me when I rang up. They have cancelled my insurance on several occasions due to non payment of insurance for this to be later rectified as a mistake on their behalf now my insurance has ended i never took a new policy out and I can't get my no claims bonus off them as they say it's been sent when 3/4 weeks later it's no where to be seen!!!!!! Give Acorn a wide birth you will be hassle free!!!!!

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS A drunk driver smashed into my vehicle she was arrested for drink driving and admitted full liability to hitting my car. I reported this to acorn insurance and was told I had to deal with the drunk drivers insurance company directly witch was ESURE... I called esure they collected my car and have my car for almost 2 weeks esure then came back to me and said the can’t offer me any service as their policy holder was drunk and breached her insurance policy they told me no work had been done on my car and that I had to deal with acorn insurance.... I then called acorn and was told they would not take my claim as a non fault claim even though I was not at fault at all... this is because I contacted esure directly never is there a manager available to speak to they are always busy... also during this time they tried to charge me an extra £1300 on my renewal price thankfully only one man in the renewal department helped me and got my original price for me... Customer service is so poor and a little suggestion train your staff to a higher standard and employ more managers as never is there one Available to help customers... I’m left with no option but to take this matter further to the auto motor ombudsman

I made a insurance with Acorn and is the worst decision I have made. After a online change of vehicle with confirmation email and paying the the amount of money I was running 2 months without insurance because of negligence. I had an incident after 2 months and I found out than my vehicle it was insured with them ,after spending hours on the phone with unprofessional agents and all the time after 2 hours waiting on the phone the call was going nowhere ,I could not repair my vehicle I paid 2 month insurance for the old vehicle that I was not driving anymore ,no refund an on top of this a 100£ plus to my insurance per month I don`t recomand Acorn please paid a bit more but don`t get involve with them

somebody recommended to this company. Acorn car insurance who are the brokers but you are insured with Haven private hire car insurance, and they look ways to get more money out of you by finding faults. Paid £3k for the insurance. Going down the line, unfortunately i had a collision. I reported the incident to haven, but when i called they said that it will take 48 hours for the details to come so can you please call after that. Every time you call the answering machine says they cant put you through.When the phone did go through they appointed the solicitors and this company by the name of Rapid vehicle management. i gave them the details of the witness, they send the text without there contact number so the witness cannot call them. I called them everyday and after 7 days they closed my file and they wanted me to repair the car my self and pay for the damages myself and pay for the car hire. Yet the third party are not disputing the fault. It's been 9 days and i haven't got no replacement car or got my car repaired. I checked on the FCA website about the Rapid vehicle management it's status this is what it says ' This is an appointed representative (AR) that is no longer an agent of an authorized firm. Do not start to do 'REGULATED' business with an AR that is no longer registered'. This is also from the FCA ' Insurance Distribution A firm that offers or sells insurance products and services This firm is unable to undertake insurance distribution. For me it's a nightmare just has started. I have to ask a accident management company to sort everything out for me. Please please spread the word about this company. Acorn insurance/haven insurance/Rapid vehicle management. One more thing the Haven insurance is based in Gibraltar EEA and not in regulation of UK government regulation.

4 days after buying insurance i checked MID and my van shown as un insured. I called admin @acorn and i was told they will sort out the issue. I had to keep on calling many times until acorn solved the issue. From the day i insured 15 days after the vehicle was shown as insured in MID. I was very lucky i checked i was very lucky i was not stopped by police i would have ended up in more trouble. So be aware of acorn insurance. If you do insurance with them check MID your self to make sure you are shown as insured. They dont give a damn. Insted of 1 day or 2 it took them 15 days to put my vehicle on MID and they didnt do their job. I had to keep on calling them until they did.so they are not reliable like other insurance company's

when looking for insurance for my first car was exciting, but yet it was hard for young drivers like me to get a good quote. when I did come across ACORN it was great everything was going well. However just after 2 weeks in there were already problems. when I booked for the black box to be fitting I made an error and had to reschedule, I asked if I would be charged which they said no. However I received a call and email stating that I missed the booking and I have to pay £150 I was shocked as I made sure that I know I wasn't going to get charged. That really put a downer on my insurance, even though it got resolved I had to speak to many people they were even refusing me to speak to the manager for 3 days! after a year with them I was coming up to a renewal, they quoted me £1900 which was more than my first year and I had one year no claims! luckily Admrial quoted me £1300 without a black box on confused.com which I was over the moon about. I wanted to remove the black box from my car so I called them, I got sent to three different phone lines because they didn't know the price, it took up half an hour of my lunch break! I had to go on the website and search for it and it cost £60 to remove it. I bet they didn't tell anyone that in their policies! NEVER AGAIN! BY FAR THE WORST

There is no point in spending the time to fill in the online application for a quote for car insurance as you do not get a quote at the end but have to speak to them in person which takes over another half an hour at least.

This company works with Haven Insurance. Having recently been burgled we have had nothing but issues in trying to resolve our claim. The process has invilved one issue after another from the emergency situation on the night of the burglary to now over 3months to resolve the claim. Their policy wording is misleading and will undoubtedly have loopholes for them to avoid paying the claim. Please beware and do not fall into the same trap we did.
