I booked with Seasons as you appeared to offer the convenience I needed and a car I really wanted to drive. I booked a Maseratti Ghibli, the car mark was the primary reason for booking, along with convenience of door to door collection and drop off. About one hour before the time of delivery I was called and informed the car I had booked several weeks previously was not available. I was offered a Mercedes S-Class as an alternative, but this was not acceptable as I did not want a large car, the operator offered an E-Class as something smaller!!! I get these type of cars regularly at half the price from Sixt, National and other standard car hire companies. I explained I had chosen the Maseratti as it was prestigious and I had not driven a Maseratti before, I also explained that I had chosen your company for this reason and would have hired a BMW M4 Cabrio, that was offered at a similar price from an alternative provider, so I wanted something more sporty. The operator came back after 10 minutes with the offer of a Nissan GTR, this still wasn't a great offer as I have previously owned a Skyline, but I accepted as we were now approaching the collection time and I realised I would not have the car when I wanted it. I had a meeting at 2.15pm so the delay was rather inconvenient. I was then called again to say the car was not cleaned and would I wait further time for this to be done, I explained I had several meetings and it would be best to have the car on time, even though this now seemed impossible. The car arrived late and I was already in a meeting which I had to leave to meet the driver. When I collected the car it was delivered with no fuel, in fact the fuel warning light came on as soon as I drove the car to a car park, the windscreen washer warning light also came on. When I left my hotel for my next meeting, I had to find a petrol station, which meant I could not go to the M11 as intended and my journey was delayed by this detour, on getting to the BP station, I opened the petrol cap and it said I had to use 100 octane unleaded fuel, otherwise it could damage the engine, BP as all standard garages, only offered 95 and 97 octane unleaded fuel! I called you customer service and was told to wait while they checked what to do and they would call me back in 5 minutes, after 15 minutes I called back as I needed to get to my next appointment and now would be late, they still could not give me an answer and it took a further 20 minutes before someone said I could use the 97 octane fuel and they would take responsibility for any engine damage. By this time I was too late to attend my meeting, which was one of the main reasons I had come to London. I was told just to put enough fuel in to get home and they would call the next morning to confirm what to do, so I was unable to use the car that evening. No one called the following day, so I called again and was told that as no one had pointed this issue out before, it was probably OK to fill the car with 97 octane fuel. This had now wasted a considerable amount of time, made me miss an important meeting and meant I could not use the car for half the rental period! When I came to drop the car off, no one was at the airport as previously arranged, to meet me, I was asked to find a space next to a wall and park the car facing the wall, lock the car and leave the key on the wheel! I did this with some reluctance as if anything happened to the car while it was parked, I could be responsible. The car also felt a little ropey as if it needed a service and, whilst being a great car and certainly a thrill to drive, my overall experience and the fact I never got to drive a Maseratti, has negated any pleasure of driving the Nissan. I am disappointed as this hire was a birthday present from my wife and it ended up being more of a problem than a convenience, overall Seasons Car Hire did not give me the VIP experience I expected and I will look elsewhere for my premium car hires in future.
