Avoid this company the manager/owner is rude who is only intrested in taking your money. Broken or not working sound systems .. not state of the art as stated some poor led lighting that looks like a child put it up. The routemaster turns up looking a state from the last party if turns up at all. If you complian he will laugh at you down the phone, tell you see you in court, shout at you and belittle you. If you manage to speak to him and not get fobbed off. He starts up different companies when they get too many bad reviews he changes the names. The bus club , the routemaster bus company and now the bus party . How he is able to get away with ripping off people is shocking . STAY AWAY FROM ALL THESE COMPANIES .

Never, never, never deal with this company. The owner is manipulative, abusive, dishonest. His attitude is UMBELIEVABLE. He should not be allowed to be in business. Find out for yourself, just call them up and ask to talk with the owner. You will feel like you are on candid camera.

I’m not really sure where to begin. Without question, the owner is the rudest person I’ve ever had the displeasure of being talked at over the phone. I was absolutely staggered at the way he spoke to me. After doing some Google research I found he was arrested for trying to make money from coaching 7 year olds football a few years ago – and it wasn’t a shock it is the sort of thing he would do. The coach did arrive when it said, but by that time we’d already been threatened with multiple costs, so it certainly wasn’t a journey we were looking forward to. It turned up dirty, water all over the floor and the music system was patchy at best. We couldn’t wait to be off it. Just wish I’d seen these reviews before. I’d actively go out of my way to recommend AGAINST using this company.

“Worst bus company - ruined our day”

Do not use this company. They ruined our otherwise perfect Christening. As in the other review, prior to the day they were helpful. On the day, the bus turned up mislabeled for a wedding. We had paid extra to follow a specific route to show the kids the tourist sites of London. The driver had no idea where he was going and our thirty minute transfer ended up taking two hours. We saw none if the sites we planned. We were taken on a bizarre and entirely unnecessary tour of East London . We missed our lunch and everyone agreed this company should be avoided. Do not use them however helpful they seem on the phone beforehand.

“Expensive, stupid and rude!!!”

My husband and I hired this bus company for our wedding. They arrived at the incorrect time (even though they made us pay to bring the time 15 minutes forward)! After collecting and dropping off our guest at the reception venue, the bus driver did not wait for us to arrive to take photographs with it!! I was really upset about it because I thought they only leave after they receive the ok from one of us. Three days after the wedding, I called them, sent and email and no answer. Now I just managed to speak to a grumpy man who said he didn't care if we left a negative review and was not going to refund us from any of the loss in service they were to provide!! Really disappointed, do not book them!!!

I hired the bus for my son's wedding on 6 September and the driver arrived on time at each location and was totally professional and very friendly. I have to admit that they completely exceeded my expectations and my guests thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Thank you so much.

For my daughter wedding I hired the above mention bus company to transport circa 50 guest to Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park from my home address, and to later take us all to the Steam Museum at Kew bridge for the reception. Bus was due to arrive at 1pm to depart for 1.30pm. When it hadn't arrived by 1.15pm nor had we been contacted, we rang the company who told us that they were on their way, but had a few pick up's to do first. This was never requested, as all guests had gathered outside my home. After 2 conversations with very rude staff, it became clear that we were dealing with a shamble of a company. I, the mother of the bride, had to jump in my own car to collect and escort the driver to my address as he could not find it. I was shocked to see the condition of both driver and bus. Driver was dressed in jeans and own dishevelled T-shirt, smoking a cigarette(not very weddingly). The bus was filthy, with windows that clearly had not been cleaned for a long period. Next problem was that he couldn't manoeuvre the vehicle round the side roads (other buses manage) so we all had to walk ( bride included) about 200meters to were he had parked up. Finally we were away 45 min late. Another extra 45 min delay in us getting to the venue was due to driver continuing missing turnings (although we tried giving him directions, which he ignored). That was the journey there, and we never imagined it could get worse upon return. We had paid £485 + an extra £100 to keep the bus an hour longer, until 6pm, as we had young children and grandparents (1wheelchair bound)who might slow us down in getting back to the car park. When we all had boarded the bus the driver told us that he had received a parking fine and we had to pay an extra £200 if he were to take us to the after party. Failing to produce this "fine" he backed down. Another 30-40min was spent negotiating with his boss on the phone, who after a tirade of verbal foul abuse, told the driver to take us as far as the nearest bus stop outside the gates of Richmond Park, but no further. There the engine was switched off and we were all told to get off. More pleading, negotiation etc followed. We even offered to pay an extra £100 in cash just to get us to our venue 15min drive up the road, this was refused. We were basically held to ransom on the bus on a very hot day. We then decided to call the police. We were given a crime ref and had to sit tight whilst waiting for them to arrive. The wait was going to be an estimated 50-60min. Upon hearing this, the driver ( who wanted to get home to Croydon) called his boss and it was decided that they would take us. We finally arrived at our destination (totally deflated) 2 hours late. Apart from the obvious trauma and upset, we also lost our deposit from hiring the bar staff as the beverage bill did not exceed predicted takings. This was mainly due to the fact that we 50+ people were stuck on a bus that refused to move. Furthermore, first thing the next morning, the bride got an email informing her that they had taken (unauthorized) an extra £150 out of her bank account.

I booked a bus from this company to celebrate my 30th birthday. As previous comments express - the possible owner is the rudest most ill-mannered person I have ever had to deal with. They run an incredibly unprofessional business - the bus showed up late in a location different to the one agreed on and we were then charged an additional £150 for late departure! The music system did not work, they ruined what had otherwise been an amazing day and I cannot believe the amount of money I had to spend on such an unpleasant experience. I hope this company goes out of business.

What a wicked way to top off a Hen do!! Everyone loved it and we was partying with the music blaring such great fun and would definately use company again! Great value for money and staff were very helpful over the phones. The bride to be wants to use the bus again for the wedding to pick up and drop off the guests

We hired bus to get us and our wedding guests to the ceremony and then onto to reception. Driver had not planned route so one of our guests had to sit next to him to direct. We had children on board and I was worried for their safety as the doors did not shut. As I got off the bus I discovered that my wedding dress had a massive black dirty mark as water had leaked from the windows onto seat. Bus is in a very bad state of repair. Great idea for wedding but don't use this company!

We hired the bus to take approx 50%(predominantly those local to venue) of the wedding guests + the groom and best man from the reception venue to the church and back. It was about a 15 mile journey to church when the inevitable happened on A3.... An accident with a 10 mile tail back - a complete stand still !!!! Did not look like we were going to make it to church on time!!! However the driver went out of his way - in more ways than one (nudge nudge wink wink) and got us there. What a great guy. The bus and journey to church n back made a fun start to what went on to be a great wedding and a super day. Well done routemaster - we will definitely be using you again.

“Got stuck on a narrow street!”

Hired them for our wedding to take guests to a pub 10 minutes from the church in Camden, and the bus turned down a tiny one way street (despite protests from guests) and ended up getting totally stuck! Luckily guests found it hilarious but they were stuck on the bus for over 30 minutes, and yet the pub was literally just around the corner! My (mostly visiting) guests didn't know this and although the bus driver did, he never said! My husband and I weren't on the bus as we were getting photos taken, but we had missed calls and panicked texts from the driver saying 'contact urgently'. I ask you - what were we supposed to do about it? Luckily it turned out to be a great story for the day, but it seems your drivers need to be taught lessons in both spacial awareness and customer service, as there was no apology or explanation from the driver at all, and it was the guests themselves that eventually realised the pub was just around the corner. The driver clearly was not concerned with the guests on board, just with getting his bus to its destination - are they paid on delivery?

“rude, late, never again!!!”

Very bad experience! Bus was 25 min late in December, 20 people were waiting on the street with around 5 degrees temperature outside and damn windy. The bus was in a poor condition, windows were not properly maintenance and made lots of noise. Microphone was not working sometimes. VERY VERY RUDE customer service that do not let you speak at all, interrupting all the time!!!!! NO apologises, no refund for undelivered services. DO NOT hire them.

I had to deal with this guy too. He was incredibly rude. We had to keep passing the phone to somebody else as he wound himself into a frenzy. Including the manager of the premium hotel we were staying at. Will never use them again!! The drivers were lovely though.

“Fairly good service”

The initial booking process and receiving a quote was very easy and starightforward however I started to feel slightly let down when I had to make last minute minor changes to pick up times and started being charged admin fees left, right & centre. However the bus arrived on time to collect my delegates and although it was FREEZING on the bus (late Nov) it was fun to ride. Music was played although the choice of tracks was a bit random. I was very worried that the bus was not going to collect us at the end of the night as I could not get hold of the driver or anyone when we wanted to leave our venue. I almost booked taxis as a replacement but luckily the driver rang me back just in time. Overall, I would recommend this company however only if you're 100% sure of your plans so you dont get overcharged

“Oh dear”

We used this company as they seemed to have reasonable rates, that is until you need to add on extras! We did book in the end though as we had left it a bit late and needed to get something sorted. After booking I called the company and spoke to who I think is the owner, possibly the rudest most obnoxious man I have even had the pleasure to speak with!! I asked him where the bus would pick us up from and his response was 'how am I supposed to know, you need to tell us love' I did tell him the street name but I wanted to check that it would be safe to park there, again he told me it was my responsibility to find out!! How am I supposed to know if they can get a double decker bus onto the street requested, I don't drive them! I called again a couple of days before the collection and luckily spoke to a lovely lady who called the bus driver to find out for me, it really was that easy but the initial man made it really hard and put serious doubts in my head about the booking. The bus collected us on time but when we arrived at the destination they couldn't find a safe space to stop so after an hour of driving round and round, my guests started jumping off the bus at traffic lights as everyone was so desperate to get off the bus! Again very bad planning on their part, surely this is the reason you pay for them so they research the pick-up and drop off points! My advice book elsewhere, my friend recently used a different company for her wedding and they were great and much cheaper than this company!

This goes down as the worst company I have ever dealt with, Ryanair was easier. The owner belongs on the stage of Jeremy Kyle rather then the phone doing business. Got a better deal and service elsewhere. I must commend them on the website it was very misleading.

“Shocking service and refusing to give a refund”

I just wish I read the reviews before booking. The bus turned up 20 minutes late and then stated that he did not know north London and did not have a clue on how to get to the destination. I had to direct the driver by banging on the window as the was in a isolated compartment. As I did not know the way avoiding bridges the journey was a nightmare with U turns and we had to skip a number of the stops we had agreed on the route as we were either too late or missed the stop as we were lost. Arrived 30 minutes late and half the passengers had to get a taxi. Offered 25% off another booking as compensation which does not cover the taxi costs at all. I was told by the very rude manager told that I should read the terms and conditions which basically claim that they will deliver nothing, including sticking to agreed times or getting you there on time or anything else.

Take them to court for the money you've lost on this booking. That's what I'm doing and it's actually quite easy to do. Go to moneyclaim.gov.uk. You dont need a solicitor and the fee is reasonable. Hello, as per your reply, we are taking them to the small claims court, we listed our complaints and as expected, they have come back saying they did everything right and it was all our fault. We have a bus full of witnesses and a stack of emails to prove otherwise but we had hoped they would just back down. How did you get on with your case?

Hi. I won! The hearing was in the small claims court today and he didnt turn up. The judge has ordered him to refund my money and all the expenses incurred (cab fairs to/from court, photocopying, postage, court fees). If he doesnt pay, I just take him back to court again (and this will be added to his costs). Get as much evidence as poss .. photos, witness statements (make sure they're properly worded with 'witness statement' and date, etc on them). Sue his dirty, slimy behind! I also printed off lots of reviews from this website as part of my evidence of how they treat their customers. The judge was lovely and it is really straightforward. Good luck.

That's excellent news, we have our court case booked for a few months time so gathering evidence now. It is interesting to know that he did not turn up, a few people have told me that they do not expect him to turn up but planning my case and evidence in case he does. I hope you get the money. I am just afraid that he will declare bankrupt and do a runner.

So glad you won, the more people who stand up to people like these, the better.

Hi there, we were completely let down by Routemasters for Hire and been trying to resolve this with them for weeks by phone, email and post, but have been completely ignored. We have no other choice than to take them to court as well!

But one thing we have been trying to determine is the registered address for the company as the T&Cs only gives a PO address which we've read should not be used for the court claim. We have found another address on companies house in Merton.

Also, should we issue the claim at our local court or at the Northampton Bulk Centre where most claims go?

The bus was late. It had a wedding sign on the front despite it being a birthday event. And they kindly surprised me with a hidden charge moments before the bus turned up but he knew he had me over a barrel because the bus was late and we had to be at an event by a specific time If you enjoy being exploited and patronised then these are the people to use. If you do not then avoid like the plague
