They are first company in EU who demanded international driver license. My license is from Israel,written in latinic. I also have international just for case, but it was issued 3 years ago. They insisted to have a valid international one, or else I need to purchase their full protection for 250euro. For 4 days. The entire rent cost was 150. Needless to say, they didn't stated this demand in no place. And if you are already have such demand, you can't rent me a car. Another issue - they provided much smaller car, without any option. In normal conditions I was cancelling a entire rent and going to look for different normal company, but unfortunately I haven't time for this bullish. I hope you will be out of business soon, cheaters.

“December 2023 We have been renting a car form 22...”

December 2023 We have been renting a car form 22 decembre 2023 to 23 January 2024 to the PANEK renting company in Riga. Fist of all they didn't want to give us the car we booked (a station wagon for the family) which was on their parking and gave us a smaller car (for 5 persons). Then 1st January, we had a flat tire, the tire was damaged. We wanted to repair but they PANEK company did withdraw the secret screw from the car !! so that it is impossible to change the wheel ! at the garage, they couldn't do anything. The two PANEK employes where upset to me because the truck did drive the car in the wrong garage (houw should I know...), started to insult me, and being more than unpleasant. Then back in the Agency, they retain 1200 euros fo the franchise from my card (for a flat tire...) at 23:00 the first of January. Then back by bus and train in Kurzeme. We took, through the broker CARJET a full coverage of inssurance to cover this kind of damage. Then we sent a clain to them but this is an other company whon takes care of that ORCHARD inssuraance company. They ask for the invoice from PANEK to reimburse us 1200 euros. but PANEK refuse to send the invoices of the repair and ORCHARD refuse to reimburse us in spite of the fact that in the contract they are suppose to cover the franchise as well. So we face a sort of complex system where both the renting PANEK and the inssurance ORCHARD throught the XARJET broker are basically screwing the customers. My advice as an honest father of family of 5 : AVOID ABSOLUTELY PANEK? DO NOT EVEN LOOK AT THEM.

“Turn around and book a Taxi”

Avoid Panek at Kaunas airport Lithuania. My £40-ish car turned into almost £400, these sham merchants wanting to charge whatever they liked. I apparently need a International Driving License. I don't I checked on the UK Government website and it's only required If you're staying in the country for more than 90 days. It is not a legal requirement, I pointed this out to them but they still blamed "brexit" and shrugged. This but it didn't stop them adding a 150 euro fee for additional insurance which I didn't require. If you take the car to the Poland it's a 200 Euro fee. If you see Panek turn around and go to a Hire company that will treat you well, or get a taxi (which would of been cheaper). It's a shame because now I want to use a car hire in Lithuania. And I'm a regular traveller.

“Hidden charges and poor service”

Multitude of hidden charges! Supposedly cheap car rentals, in reality midrange prices for a very poor service. The extra charges together more than doubled the cost of 1 week rental. “Late collection” - despite collecting the car exactly on time at the specified contracted time, “highway fee not included” – had to start the trip by stopping at the nearest petrol pump to purchase a highway ticket, “cleaning fee” charged from the deposit, enormously high for a car that was used just by me and kept in a very good condition. I am not going to use this car rentals ever again.

“AVOID!”

PANEK car hire company use illegal practices to threaten, and blackmail money out of their customers. Not to mention all the hidden extra costs when you pick up your car. Avoid at all costs or your trip will be ruined, and you’ll end up paying a lot more for your trip.

“I rented a car through Ryanair, when I arrived I was...”

I rented a car through Ryanair, when I arrived I was told that I had to put on hold 1400 euro in case I'd any damages, dropped car back early morning due to early 5am flight, dropped keys into box as requested. 2 months later noticed that they took €1399.83 and when quizzed by Credit card company sent false information including fake signatures and fake emails, also provided mechanic repair report for a totally different car Whatever you do, don't rent a car from these guys.

“This is a rental company I will not use again”

This is a rental company I will not use again, poor service and ridiculous extra charges. My friend and I came over for a visit to Lithuania as its where I’m from although I currently reside in the UK. We went to collect our hire car, but was told I don’t have all the documents, I was in need of an International Driving Permit. Although I was born in Lithuania as well learning to drive there. This was because my driving licence had been updated in the UK, so therefore it was a UK driving Licence. We were told we could pay an extra fee of 246 euros for the car. I tried calling the offices of the car hire company, but we had no answer. I was not prepared to pay a ridiculous price on top of the car hire. So, we went across the road and hired from one of the other companies with no issues, no special licences or permits required. What made this experience worse was the amount of people with the same issue as us, some paid extra fees others went elsewhere. Its not a company I would use again or recommend to anybody else. This company just seems to want to make money through extra charges.

3 hours of my life gone...3 x AVOID PANEK and Rentalcars 1. you will receive an email confirming your vehicle reservation after booking. I recommend everyone to click on the manage booking button /normally I don't click on it because for me it means to cancel or change the reservation/ and there you will find a voucher, which you must carefully read so that you know what you are getting into. I recommend everyone to do so so that their eyes are opened to what awaits them. 2. Deposit PANEK 1400 Eur...Bad joke. 3. International driving license, no one warns you about this when booking, that some companies require this type of license and when you come to pick up the vehicle, you will be in for an unpleasant surprise. Avoid by far the company Panek and especially their employee and his snobbish, arrogant company, which rents cars at the Kaunas airport and dishonours the first contact with the country. The customer is not interested in them. Arrogance, unwillingness, and ignorance of the customer. They are not interested in this type of business, it is probably something else. I have been flying with Ryanair since the beginning of the company's existence and I was satisfied, so I did not check the reviews on the car rental, which was a big mistake. 3 x AVOID.

Caution - Tourist Trap!!! Avoid using the company's services!!! We rented a car from Panek for a duration of eight days: we picked up the car at Krakow Airport and returned it at Katowice Airport. The rental agreement, as agreed upon, cost us approximately 1700 złoty (including regular insurance), and we added an external insurance for 515 złoty. To spare you the details: due to a bureaucratic issue that could have been easily resolved, we were forced to pay an additional 1200 złoty for the company's insurance (meaning double insurance), and finally: another 250 (!!!) złoty for car cleaning (which we didn't use excessively). In other words, the rental - renting a car for eight days - cost us around 3700 złoty. We were not the only ones who had to add money at the time of car pickup. Customers before us were required to add a substantial amount to their original booking. Even customers who came after us had to pay extra. Another serious issue was the size of the cargo space. When we rented the car, we were promised that it would fit "three large bags," but in reality, it couldn't even fit two standard-sized suitcases (50/79/27 cm). We had to place one of the suitcases on the back seat of the car. So, we traveled around Poland with four people in a cramped and uncomfortable car, which ultimately cost us over 3700 złoty. We rented the car through the Rentalcar company, which did not help us resolve this issue. And one more thing: the contract and all documents were in Polish, without an English translation. It seems that the contract is not the same as those used in other countries. We made this mistake, but you - do yourselves a favor and look for a car from another company.

“Disgusting company”

Had a rental car booked for when we arrived in Rzeszow, but gave our flight number as requested so they're able to track our arrival. Representative clearly didn't care because he left the desk unmanned, promised he'd be here in 30 minutes, and didn't arrive for over 2 hours. As a result of his incompetence and lies, we missed our train connection in Chelm bound for Kyiv. We were offered no compensation, or apology. The epresentative was rude, and clearly didn't care. Do not use this company, they will ruin your holiday!

“Dirty Expensive Bad”

I used it for many times and it's always dirty cars inside. Almost every time smell of cigarretes or something else inside. I would never recommend Panek to anybody!

“Poor customer service ”

Similar to other reviews, AVOID if you can! This wasn't our first time renting with Panek and we've had some issues in the past but our one week car rental in January 2023 was less than poor and we have been patient, giving the company more than an adequate amount of time for satisfactory resolution, hence our late review. The reason we have picked Panek is that they've had a competitive price offer for that specific week's rental but they have made up the difference in charging us much higher price for the car insurance, claiming that it was due to people causing a lot of damage to their cars in the recent weeks. After our arrival at Modlin Airport 11pm, we were given the key and told to walk to a far away car park in freezing minus temperature, the girl at the desk was too cold to join us. She marked the place of the car on the map. After 15min search we were unable to locate the car, it wasn't in the marked place, nor any of the other car rental bays and the car key being a basic one, didn't allow us to locate the car in a more effective way. We've had to walk back to the Airport to find that the lady from the desk was gone for the night. We had to carry on the search ourselves and at 20 to midnight we have managed to locate the car. As per our hire agreement we have requested a manual transmission but was assigned automatic. Once getting into the car, we've discovered unidentified loud and continues beeping noise coming from the dashboard, and with us having 3 hour journey ahead, we couldn't imagine setting off. Noise was intolerable and not knowing if there was an electronic fault made us think twice. We have rang and spoke to 4-5 different people, reporting our concerns and asking for problem rectification and the treatment we have received was disgusting. They would transfer us over to different people, us repeating the same thing over and over and each time informing us that they will ring back but never have. We've had to set off and got to our destination at 4am! The next day we were still expecting that promised returned call or email - but no joy! We've had to contact them ourselves via email and on our 5th day of rental they have emailed back without a simple apology. In that 5 days, the car could've been swapped over but no attempt was made. On the day of our flight we have returned the car and explained where it was parked and how poor experience we've had. We have also introduced several recordings of the beeping noise, which have still continued at the time of the car return, to which the person at the desk couldn't believe his own ears or comprehend how we could drive with that noise. The person on the desk, was understanding and did apologies, also had noting positive to say about his own Panek home office, which has proven that even employees agree with the poor service and mistakes that were made. Our flight was due and we were told that we need to re-park the car in a distant car park, which we declined and asked the person at the desk to do it for us, considering our poor experience, to which he has agreed, apologies and said that it will be sorted and he will get the home office to contact us, which they haven't done for about a month! In their very delayed email they have told us that we were charged a parking fee charge, for parking at the wrong car park. If this is their way to apologise and rectified the issue,I have no more comment.

“Fuel policy ”

We rented a car with the fuel option, once returned, despite being told that unused fuel would be refunded, they denied arguing that company policy does not consider refunding extra unused fuel. The front tires were worn and gave some stability issues during our journey, especially driving on the highway. Last but not least, the washer fluid was out. Bad company.

DO NOT RENT YOUR CAR FROM PANEK! Learn from my mistake and do not rent your car from Panek. There is a reason why this company score is so low! I have recently returned from my trip to Lithuania where I noticed a £90 charge on my card. I have emailed the company but didn’t receive any response, I then called the office and they have advised this isn’t something they can discuss, and I need to send an email, which I did again. After having to chase, someone has come back to me to me to say this charge was because the car wasn’t returned cleaned. They sent me pictures which shows a few bugs stuck to the number plate and tyres being dirty. There main car park is on the gravel so of course the tires will have gravel on them. I took this car for a car wash only HOURS before retuning it. So how exactly is this car not clean? Because there are a few bugs on the outside? Bear in mind when I picked this car up it has splash marks on the side where it was going through the puddles. This car was certainly NOT cleaned when I picked it up. I 100% believe they are taking advantage of this situation because I am a young female. There is no way they would try this nonsense with a man. I have cancelled my future bookings and will NEVER use them again. You get what you pay for! Just because they are cheap be prepared for the consequences they need to make their money somehow.

It's happened to me exactly the same in Kaunas Airport and I am a man 43 years old. I was charged 50 euros for car being not completely clean, I spent one hour of cleaning inside, spent 10 euros of washing it! Who ever was replying to my emails was disrespectful. The cleaning charge appeared only 11th of November when I returned car on a 5th, a week later!! They even not bothered to send me email with the pictures of the car and cleaning receipt, they said I have to pay administrative costs if I want the pictures!! I have been given wrong car which doesn't meet my requirements (one week before my flight I phoned them that I need exactly same car no smaller which I booked 5 month ago) , I have been told not to drive more than 1500km because car needs to be serviced, my booking voucher was with unlimited mileage! The agent arrived half hour later to give me the car, having in mind that I gave them flight number!
I have never seen company with such a poor customer service. For the past 6 year I was using car rental services in Lithuania but the first time I approached company PANEK. I hope people will read those reviews before (not after like me) renting the cars. I have to admit that I wasn't blind and I saw lowest reviews of company called PANEK on Rental Cars.com, but I thought I am good responsible man who cares and loves the cars and that won't happen to me. I'm afraid I was wrong.

“Very bitterly disappointed”

Very bitterly disappointed. I booked a car via Panek. The car was all right. I paid at the airport the agreed amount. The member of staff said I have paid the full amount and got the receipt. After about a week I returned the car and everything seemed perfect until I came back home and accidentally noticed I got an email from Panek which sent me an invoice for the car. I was shocked because I had paid everything in full. In the invoice Panek said that I still owe them 0.02 PLN (less than 1 EURO CENT) and if I don't pay this invoice Panek will start charging me interest rates. In addition to that Panek said they might report me to national debt agency. I wasted a lot of time to find the original payment and the receipt we have kept just in case and noticed the invoice is illegal because I truly paid everything before. In the end Panek simply sent me a statement that I don't owe them anything. No apology... I wonder what would happen if I missed the email, how much interest would be added over the next months, years. I hope not to ever do business with Panek again.

“Worst rental in Kaunas”

This company is a Joke.... I did not read reviews before renting a car with then in Kaunas and I regrets it. Straight to the point, the company appear as the cheapest on the car rental comparison company because they are tricking people with all sorts of extra fees if you are not carefully ready the 5 pages of tiny text contract. First, we arrived late at the rental because we had to finish some work at the airport and the guy tell us that we should be entitled to 120euros fees for coming late to pick the car?! First time I hear that in a rental company that you cannot be late to pick your car.... but the guy tells us that he is in good mood so we will not have to pay. Second, we were planning to go to visit a friend 5 Km in Poland (meaning cross border) But we have not been informed by anyone about a special fees with crossing border and also the car was registered in Poland. The day after arriving there I received a mail stating that I have been crossing the border ILLEGALLY and that I am entitled to 2000euros fees… I therefore started to read the contract more carefully and saw a lot of information about what can of extra fees they can give. They can also give you 400euros fees for exceeding the speed limit as they are tracking our GPS for location and speed. End of the story, we tried to tell them that we actually did not need to cross the border as it was so close and we could have been picked, so we simply did not know about the fee for crossing. But they did not give a damn and gave us a “discount” of 50% if we would pay the fine directly otherwise we would end up in court with them. We ended up paying 1000euros for renting a car for 2 days with this crooked company. The guy did even lie to our face stating that he his sure about telling us something about the cross border and even is colleague confirmed while it is 1000% not true. Just avoid the company and pay a few more bucks for something reliable.

“Dicriminating company”

Panek is a discriminating company. I am Russian living in Poland for 3 years, with Polish residence card, having friends with Poles, etc. Recently I was in a need to rent a car and was unpleasantly surprised when I tried to register in Panek app. The response from their support was "we no longer work with people with Russian nationality". First they cited sanctions as a reason (but there are none limiting people with EU residence), but then they clarified that "this company private decision". It also shows a lot that they do it cowardly by silent reject of registration - there is not a single article on company website about this new rule. If you believe so strongly against having to provide service to anyone with Russian nationality, why are you ashamed to speak about your decision? War is evil but discrimination by nation, race, gender, etc. is evil too.

“DOn't have a bussnes with this”

I have booked the car online and once I arrived at the airport Panek said your booking has been canceled. It is shame as I have not received any emails that my booking was canceled. It looked like they don't have cars. My advice don't work with them, they are not reliable at all.
