never again AVIS

I have just returned from a holiday in the beautiful Greek island of Zante. We rented a car before setting off to meet us at the airport, we paid 200 euros for a Mercedes or BMW (diesel). when we arrived the guy who met us didnt have a clue, We ended up taking what was given to us (after a long chat)only under the condition that AVIS would have a rep out to meet us the next morning at 10am at the Villa we had rented. we waited in till around 3pm and still nothing we called the number given and no reply.We tried the following day and still nothing so just kept the car we had, when returning the car to the airport at the end of our great holiday there was no one to meet us there so we could show no damage had been done to the vehicle and was told by our rep the usual thing to do was leave the keys under the mat in the car. This in my opinion was discusting,I will NEVER use AVIS again and advise others to steer clear.
