We had a booking in Sicily with Argus with a smaller car hire company. We had a issue as the credit card we had they would not accept. Turned out my wife had another card they were ok with but the booking details needed to include her to accept it. The operator rang Argus to ask them to make the change on the certificate and we were all good to go. Argus refused as they said that even though we had collected the car yet the actual time was past the recorded collection time in their system so they could accommodate the change. The car hire company therefore couldn't give us the car and we lost our booking and money. The Argus customer service person as quick to offer us another booking.

This isn't customer service when all parties want this change but a simple few clicks on the Argus keyboard was too much of a problem for Argus. The Car Rental company was very good. Argus could have easily created a new certificate and I argued that the Ts&Cs say that you can make changes before the car was collected but be careful. Its not that. terrible terrible service.
