Going through a transition but full of lots of knowledgable owners, mechanics, traders and a constant source of facts and cheap parts.

Will recoup the £10 fee within weeks on this alone.

This was Good Forum, with frendly Banter Chat and a Wealtho ff information on these loverly cars.
But the whole place has gone downhill a lot recently.
The information is ther but the whole atmosphere is now one of Pettiness
and Big Brother syndrome!. Talk out of turn or post something slightly contraversal You you bet Banned..... Total Cr*p !!

A useful source of information. Some genuinely knowledgeable, friendly and experienced members who give good advice.

Unfortunately the club is owned by people who have too little time, interest or people skills for the club's needs. To illustrate: Club car restoration ten months on and it hasn't happened, club members pack hasn't happened, club news page last updated January, club events page last updated March of 2007! Club overview out of date, web news and updates last updated 2006! Club shop unavailable, club offers last updated August 2006, club features section completely empty, club competitions section completely empty, club travel section empty - you get the picture? Still, the donate and subscribe buttons both work so that's ok then. This isn't in any way a criticism of the moderators who are doing their best for the members whilst being left to take all the flak and questions. But it is a good insight into the ongoing inertia of the directors of the club.

An earlier post claimed that 'unofficial' meets are encouraged but on every meet organised by the members you will find this disclaimer:

Please be aware this is not an official 75 & ZT Owners Club meet and as such is not covered by the clubs public liability insurance. Also the owners club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

Which is not really very encouraging really. This might be ok if there were plenty of 'official' meets but there aren't.

Maybe all this would be ok if the owners treated members with a bit of respect rather than fobbing them off, making commitments they then break and treating members who ask questions like naughty school children - that's when they are around.

To conclude. After several happy years in this club I won't be renewing my subscription because unlike Ronseal this club does not do exactly what it says on the tin.

Having been an early member of the forum I must say that it's the club members who make it what it is, a very informative and welcoming forum. Although there has been some recent in fighting, if your a member like me and just use the club for what it's there for i.e keeping my 75 on the road, then you can do no better.

Good for information on your car,but not the friendliest place to visit, and to access all the site you HAVE to pay £10, which is OK, but you get nothing in return, and when you do pay, you realise you weren't missing out on much by not paying.

So my advice is, use it for information, but don't be tempted to join, buy yourself something useful with the £10 instead.

Although a member of this site,
I could not recommend it to anyone other than for gaining information.
Politics reign supreme here and the management seem to have little interests in members views.
Those that have voiced opinions or suggestions in the past have been removed, banned or just disappear.
It is a rip off at £10 with nothing promised ever appearing other than more promises and lies.

Only 3 stars for this site and a guarded recommendation to others.

The information available is great and will go a long way towards helping you maintain one of these interesting cars. The members are, for the most part, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the overbearing and sometimes paranoid management or the clumsy and distinctly unprofessional moderation.

Take what you can from it but be prepared to take flak if you're in any way controversial or you happen to disagree with the directors.

★★★★★

written by Shoveduff on 28/06/2010

The 75 and ZT owners club sole aim is to keep as many Rover 75 and MG ZT's running as possible.
The clubs forum provides members with a wealth of hints and tips to assist in the running of these vehicles and draws upon the wealth of experience from its members. The forum also provides a social area where many topics are discussed. The advertised rules in this club ensure that a family friendly atmosphere is maintained, although this may not be to everyones taste. Both club organised national meets and 'un-official' local meets are encouraged and as such members get to meet up regularly.
Overall the 75andZT owners club is a very friendly and helpful place to be.
