“Is Ring the most intrusive company in the World?”

Consider the following: - • Once you’ve created a Ring Account you will not find any way to delete it. There is no such option either on-line or in the app and, even if you found a way to do it, you would cease to be able to connect to your camera. • You cannot connect to a Ring Camera unless you go through two factor authentication which connects you to the Ring Network where they monitor your camera – whether you want them to or not. You are forced to have 30 days monitoring, (they call it a free trial), but you can’t turn this off and the only way to limit the intrusion is to set a 1 day limit on data retention. After the trial has ended you will be nagged and nagged into setting up a paid storage account. • If you run other systems i.e. Ptz dome cameras etc., and want to add the Ring Camera to your system, you will be disappointed. None of the standard search tools will even detect the Ring Camera as it does not use normal port settings. Even worse, most viewers will not be able to connect to the camera even if you supply the actual IP Address it’s attached to because of the two factor authentication that you cannot turn off. • Support is poor, they will not respond to email request for help and urge you to contact help centres in the USA. This is not convenient for obvious reasons – time difference and call costs aside. • If you use the PC app to connect to the Ring Camera you are forced to have your microphone enabled in Windows – you cannot connect to the camera if the Microphone is turned off. This means all your office conversations are being recorded on Ring Cloud Services all the time you are connected to the camera. Consider the security implications of that! • Ring call their cameras Security Devices, but they are anything but. They are a complete invasion of your privacy and Ring have taken all steps possible to stop you from disconnecting them from the cameras in your home or office. They want to charge you for data storage and won’t take No for an answer. Buy one of these on impulse and repent at leisure. Not a good buy for me, I could not recommend this system to anyone that is in any way security conscious.

“HORRIBLE RING Door View Cam ¡¡¡¡¡”

If you don't pay subscription for the month it doesn't work mandatory subscription !!! if you do not pay 3. € per month and you subscribe it does not work is a gotcha recordings of only 20 '' seconds if you don't pay at 28 days it stops! it is paying the triple that other cameras for door and then € 30 annuals for recordings of 20 '' seconds

“Worked for 3 months. ”

The Ring 2 doorbell worked well for three months, then stopped. After 2 hours on the phone to helpful people in Cairo and Phoenix they sent me a new one that didn't work either. It is a pity they can't make one that is reliable as while it was working it was excellent. I have now bought a Nest Hello and will do a review on that too.

“Does not work at night so don’t waste your money”

It’s a good system but only if you need security during the day. The system stops storing video at about 10pm and does not start again until 7am. Ring keep telling me there is nothing wrong so this must be the way they set it up.

“I had to contact UPS to get my shipment delivered”

Ordered a couple of cameras from these guys. Money taken No delivery details No tracking Kept emailing as cameras hadn’t been shipped Contact support they said the cameras were being held by UPS I asked if they could contact UPS and get them delivered he said no. He would email me the tracking number which I should have been given at order placement. I was told I had to deal with UPS. This isn’t customer service at all.

“Ring are sharks”

The amount of advertising should be a clue that they are after your money. Which would be OK if they provided good service.  The products are OK (good even), but from the time you switch it on you are badgered to purchase a cloud storage subscription. PRODUCT IS USELESS WITHOUT IT. Because you cannot stream the activated video anywhere else. Not to your phone, not to a local storage disk. No build in storage. Useless and a cynical marketing model. Their Customer Service is overloaded with complaints and they adopt an avoidance method to make it as hard as possible. Life is too short. Just buy another brand. (I bought a Floodlight Cam (and cloud storage) and Ring doorbell cam (no storage). The Floodlight works well (wireless) but the doorbell take at least 10seconds to wakeup on detecting motion, and then more time to notify you, so that by the time you get to the door, or open the App, the visitor has gone. And then doesn't record any video[nothing to see anyway] without the cloud subscription. Useless. Ring deserve the bad reviews.

“ring video doorbell”

please be aware that if you live in the uk, and wish to return a defective product. they send a fed ex label. which is not excepted in uk post offices. so you can not return the product.. they have made it really hard to return the product. what happens is they send you a replacement product but then it is impossible to return it so they charge you again.. so you end up paying for 2 items really bad avoid...
