“The CBT Has Been A Great Help To My Business.”

I run a painting and decorating business and joined the CBT five years ago in 2007. Apart from providing me with a website and free web hosting they've given me good advice on many occasions when I've had problems. The membership is renewed every year and I pay my dues. I consider the website, hosting, free advertising, use of the logo and membership benefits well worth the annual fee. I like others don’t like paying but I if they didn't make a charge they wouldn't be there would they?

I recently noticed that my site started looking a bit tired over the years and after speaking with a rep at the CBT they updated the site giving it a new look at no charge at all.

After five years I can honestly say that I'm satisfied and confirm that I intend to continue the membership and give thanks for all the assistance they’ve given me.

Thank you.
You might not be aware because I far as I am aware, you can have such services free by some web hosting companies who also provide you with pre-designed templates to built up your own company website free of change. For example, wix is one of them offering free website services and if you want to know more please contact me.
However, it is unusual for a happy customer to leave such review about the Confederation of businesses and traders (cBT) anonymously. Today, I had an email from another company and when I spoke to them I was also told that they have been tricked by Confederation of businesses and traders (cBT) into a contract. The same story of Free directory listing initially then by clicking on accepting on "terms and conditions" you are trapped and about two weeks later you get demands for payment of more than 200 Pounds from the Confederation of businesses and traders website: confedbt.
I have written to CBT on the number of occasions. On 4th December 2013, I wrote to Confederation of businesses and traders and mentioned that "I hope you realize that what you are doing is unethical and I do not want to live on this sort of handouts". There is an elderly man and relatively young lady behind this. I met both them when I attended Basildon County Court. On their company website: confedbt on the top of the first home page misleadingly mentions: "The Confederation of Businesses and Traders is all about providing free continuous business support, advertising, web services and recognition for associated members" Once you are in their trap it is very difficult to get rid of them because the Confederation of businesses and traders' Terms and conditions sets out that:
Membership renewals and cancellations are subject to our terms and conditions section 9.2 as seen below.
9.2
The renewal of your Memberships can be cancelled by the member or authorised person by contacting the CBT by e-mail or telephone and obtaining a cancellation reference code. To request a cancellation reference code you must contact the CBT no sooner than 60 days and no later than 30 days before the anniversary of your joining date. This reference code should be kept as proof of your resignation. The Member will remain liable for any outstanding membership or other fees, if applicable.
The full terns and conditions can be viewed from our web site
