Do not even consider using EE for your broadband, there service is next to useless and the Indian call centre is appalling.
I changed from sky as EE offered the world and also stated there was no tie in, with sky i had no drop off issues at all, within 2 moths of being with EE i suddenly started to get constant connection drop off and now can only get download speeds of 0.24 mbps and upload speeds of 0.5 mbps. BT have confirmed my line connection and have assured me there is no line fault. Our area connection is only capable of supplying unto 4.5 mbps so never fast but what a shock to see such a fall off in connection speeds. Several calls, engineer visit and 4 weeks later still the same, SHOCKING DIRE SERVICE.
Next step is how to get out of this contract as i guess there will be a charge, not a bad way of making money is it if you charge somebody for a service you are incapable of supplying then charge them for the pleasure.
STAY AWAY IS ALL I SAY.

I cannot agree more. We have just come off the phone from their debt recovery department. We ditched them after 3 months, got our MAC code, paid the bill to settle the account but they still continued to charge us. Worst company I have ever dealt with for broadband and they appear not to understand the term customer service. 'We have not overcharged you but we can't tell you what money we have taken, you need to look at your account' We log in with details they provide and our account details only show a skeleton account, no bills or anything. Shockingly bad.
