bought this house mainly because it had a new boiler along with other 'new' additions. never had one of these biolers before but thought a new boiler by a reportedly good manufacturer sounds good... WRONG it was just over 1 year old when we bought the house, it had already had a replacement thermostat fitted(didnt find that one out till aftre sale went through) well from april 2010 to now i have had over 20days off of work because of this boiler!...first it was too hot, front of casing metal very hot, then it went off and on by its self,.. or not at all! then the pressure went up on its own when it was switched off, then the water temp fluctuated from useless to take the skin off.. then the thermostat had to be replaced AGAIN only 6months from the last one ... then the boiler was over heating and switching its self off again!! then the pressure started going up again on its own.. then it was tripping out and witching its self off again, then the front started heating up and not cooling off so instead of the dial reading 1 or 2 it was going up !! after it was off and continuing to heatup. Now its off AGAIN waiting for anothet engineer to come thats 3 visits in 3 days now and as he sorts one problem another pops up, yesterday he fixed the over heating water, and then last night the central heating switched on by its self WHEN SWITCHED OFF! the boiler just started firing up on its own!!, also the front of the case was bery hot again and the pressure was building up again even after 10hours it is still high it should go down after use but it works on the reverse it goes up when you switch it off. the whole boiler is off at the isolation switch but the pressure is holding at high even 10hrs later.this boiler is off more than it is switched on and it is allways a few days to sort it out so another week off work!! i have lost hondreds if not thousands of pounds waiting in for engineers to come fix this thing!! DO NOT GET ONE OF THESE BOILERS even the engineers from brit gas cant find out why and whats wrong and fix it.i dont think i am the only person with these problems

I WOULD BE A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT THE ENGINEERS YOU ARE USEING AND IF IT IS BRITISH GAS IT IS NOT SURPRISEING BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT THAT RELIABLE EITHER. DO NOT KNOW IF YOU HAVE TRIED WORCESTER THEY HAVE THEIR OWN ENGINEERS AND THEY MAY BE ABLE TO HELP YOU

We too have had a poor experience with Worcester. Our boiler engineer is properly qualified and has been consulting with Worcester. So far he has replaced the PCB, the Gas Valve, the thermostats and given it a full service. Still it doesn't work after nearly 10 weeks of messing about and £400. To say we're fed up is a understatement. Now looking at a replacement boiler and it won't be Worcester!!!!

Does it switch itself on when you turn on any cold water appliance in your house?
