Great boiler, simple to install for the installer and simple to operate. It is energy efficient and the boiler package was a good price (flue, timer). Comes with a 5 year warranty on the condition the boiler is serviced annually by a Gas safe engineer. Good boiler for a mid-range choice.

Had new boiler fitted in 2016 2 year warranty, developed fault Feb 2018,contacted Ideal regarding breakdown, they did not want to know even though still under warranty. This week 4th April i received a request for my bank details for a direct debit as my Warranty runs out in a couple of Months,so why would they not repair my boiler. As i am A 77 year hold i found it difficult having to pay British Gas £99 pounds to fit a new igniter after such a short time of having boiler fitted. My advice to anybody wanting to purchase a new boiler is,Keep well away from IDEAL BOILERS,And poor customer service,LEAVING ME £99 pounds poorer. One unhappy Pensioner.

We moved into our bungalow a year ago and enjoyed the warmth of heating and hot water from the above boiler installed in Jan 2014. A month ago an error code of "Ignition Lockout" showed after it had stopped working. This was followed by "Check all other gas appliances work" then "Reset boiler" and finally "Call installer". Having followed the instructions without success I called the installer who suggested I contact Ideal as the boiler was still under warrantee. An appointment was made for the following Wednesday although I received a call from them on the Monday to say they'd had a cancellation and could come a day earlier if preferred. The boiler is installed in the loft and it was necessary for the loft to be boarded with lighting installed in order for the engineer to access it and work safely. He duly arrived on the new date and set to work. Upon taking him up a cup of tea after a quarter of an hour or so he seemd to have most of the insides stripped out. However, a half an hour later it was all back together and working again. Apparently the problem was a dirty probe which he'd cleaned and returned. It should have been cleaned at the last service! Relieved it was sorted under warranty and has been working fine since.

We have the Ideal Logic+ 35 boiler installed (that replaced an awful Ferroli! ) It has been Quiet, Efficient and reliable and so far has been good value for money. The remote Wireless Controller and thermostat are simple to use and we have found that the Ideal heats up much quicker than either of our previous 2 Boilers and the fact that it is smaller and queiter is a bonus. So far so good but will be back again to report progress Only downside thus far is that the wireless controller does not have a night setting although there is 5 degree frost Protection that kicks in if needed

I had this IDEAL combi 24 fitted in 2013. It is now 3 and 1/2 years old. It is now leaking water from the main heat exchanger into the condensate pipe, which aparantly is becoming a common fault. I`m lucky that is where the water is going otherwise I would have a very wet floor. I have read that many of these heat exchangers were low quality and made in China. I am waiting on the engineer to replace it in two days time. (HEX`s) Heat exchangers should last at least ten years. So these boilers are not fit for purpose. I had this boiler fitted under the warm front scheme. Someone it seems was making money from installing cheap boilers.......

Warmfront installed my Isar HE 24 Combi boiler and central heating September 2007, after 5 years the remote controller just stopped working was told it was ok to work the boiler without it as it was not covered they are £130/£150 to buy ,12 months later water would run hot then after afew minutes it would run freezing cold water then start to heat up again then go cold i have emailed everyone i can think of even the complaints dept of the government scheme issuers and because it was out of warranty and it was up to us to get it serviced which we did .theres nothing they can do ive told them i was told there was a fault on them there reply got a corgi reg company to inspect it and to write me a letter stating the fault and they will consider a repair (not replacement) 6 months ago was told by a energy advice to reapply so i did was asked for £600 towards the cost then again 3 weeks ago was advised again by the advice people to reapply but through E-on so i did was told i qualified was made up boiler failed some test that was done was told to wait for a phone call with a date for the fitters to replace my combi boiler but i didnt receive a phone call i received a letter asking me for £970 towards the cost by the way on both occasions it was the same company that were going to replace my boiler the price increased by £370 in 6 months haha wouldnt mined you can buy a isar boiler for under £200 now .so im still the same as i cant afford to get it repaired as i am unable to work due to having COPD (chest /lung decease) plus other health problems so i still have flashes of hot water what a joke

Installed on government Warmfront grant scheme. Just packed up after ten years which seems pretty good life for this device. It's corroded to bits, unrepairable.

I had a problem with water not getting hot on occasions n despite having the yearly services required to maintain my warranty when I called to report this known problem they couldn't find my details on the system so no valid warranty n therefore it was going to cost me £120 for them to fix it, I argued till I was blue in the face n they won't do nothing unless I pay, the installer said if that was the case he wasn't fitting any more boilers n still they don't care!! I'm informing watchdog next!!

Ideal icos HE boilers are nothing but trouble. There customer service is also rubbish. I have emailed them several times but never even had a response. I live in a new housing development & I can tell you several people in our street have actually binned them when they were less then 3 years old. There is a common fault with the PCB. I am on my third PCB & the boiler is only 8 years old. I have now decided to join the rest of the street & throw it in the bin. so good luck if you buy one.

0ideal isar boilers of many years ago were problematic, but the new ideal vogue is entirely re-designed and has premium components, unlike the budget Isar 0 which was used for Government free schemes. The Vogue has the same quality components as the Vaillant and the manufacturer's are offering 7 or 10 years guarantees - depending upon their installers! Time will show that the new Ideal wishes to forget the Isar and will herald the Vogue as the fore-runner with Vaillant.

Had this boiler fitted 6 years ago. Never had any problems although two of my neighbours had no end of trouble. I got lucky I guess...

Have had endless problems. Worst are the rubber heat exchanger spacers. We had them go and it caused severe flooding in the kitchen Told by engineer they need replacing every year. Other problems with the pump

As others mentioned installed with warm front scheme, approx 2008 now in early 2015 is about to be replaced due to leak and also loosing pressure no way of replacing parts without significant expense, almost as cheap to replace. apparently very hard to change parts due to inaccessablitiy

Boiler was installed under warm front scheme late 2009. It has now completely broke. The heat exchange has gone. Engineer has looked at it, they said boiler was manufactured in 2005, so was 4 years old when installed! No wonder it has been so rubbish! Warm front scheme have left us buggered by installing something they have bought cheap and that blatantly is a pile of rubbish! Avoid at all costs!!

My 80+ year old in-laws had this boiler fitted under Warm Front Scheme in 2006. Has broken down so many times, lost count. Has cost a fortune to maintain. Never had adequate hot water. Currently hot water is about 10deg C max, Absolutely useless. Ideal could'nt care less, Time I think to boot it out. NEVER Buy a boiler from Ideal

We have had problems with hot water, heating, fuses being blown, pcb being changed at least 4 times, fan and other parts we do not remember the names of. Even in summer to get luke warm water I have had to leave it on from 9am this morning till 4pm Please stay clear of Ideal boilers. I hate them so much. There is nothing to like about this boilers. Not fit for the purpose. Even the engineers hate them. Ideal should go into a different trade which they know about and stop making these rubbish. Don't waste your money and time on this scrap. Wish I had read the reviews before.
