I have just had an ASHP installed. It is useless unless you want to spend over £600 per month on electricity. The temperature has just gone down below freezing and it might as well not be on. £14,000 wasted. I am having it taken out and going back to my oil boiler - at least it keeps me warm!

I had a grant boiler installed 6 years ago with no issue the warranty run out after 5 years and its been serviced every year. This year the water jacket sprung a leak and could not be repaired. when i contacted grant to buy the parts 1st i was told i couldn't, then i was told i needed to buy all of the boiler minus the burner as parts went sold separately. in short 2/3rd of the boiler cost. going forward I will avoid grant as there were little to no help and didn't seem to care as I'm sure like most people we dont intend on buying a boiler every 6 years.

Dreadful, do not expect any customer service from this company. Grant sold me a faulty boiler.....it took several months at my cost.....to establish that it had a cracked heat exchanger and what did they do? They lost my complaint paperwork.....forgot to call out one of their Engineers to look at the problem (whoops they do not have their own engineers, they sub-contract!) and then lost the paperwork again!!! Their own representative has been to site agreed there was a fault and then Grant sent me paperwork asking me to waive my consumer rights in advance of rectifying the matter!!!!. Grant did nothing to cover my reasonable costs, offered a replacement heat exchanger (if I waived my rights), required me to arrange the return of the boiler (including placing it on a pallet) but would only contribute £250 towards labour to re-install.....All of which will be reposted to Which Magazine with full correspondence avoid this company like the plague and buy a boiler from another manufacturer who respects consumer rights

Our Grant oil fired combi will be five years old next January. We've decided to have it replaced. Since we've had it the followings have been replaced:- Check valve; Domestic hw pump; Domestic hw heat exchanger; Expansion vessel; Air vent; Pressure switch (the replacement pressure switch is taller than the original so the boiler top can not be fitted properly). It's now been on in heating mode for ten days and has failed twice already. That's all.

Had a Spira 9/26 for over 3 years. Has given lots of trouble. Never a month goes by without one problem or another. Parts are extortionate and not easily come by. Have been on phone 15 minutes waiting for assistance. The part I need costs £300+ and this is the second one (out of warranty). Luckily, I and quite technical and can service and repair myself or it would be much worse.

Very Satisfied with the boiler so far, however the warranty should read 2 YEARS NOT 5. If you want 5 years you HAVE TO PAY AN EXTRA £300, not very clear when advertised. Its not hard to be open and honest instead of hiding the full details which most people over look. Time will tell if I have made the correct purchase. My last grant combi lasted 10 years, I hope to get a bit more out of this one.....

Had a Grant Oil Combi 26 installed about 10 years ago - there have been various small things go wrong mainly due to initial bad installation. Another fairly expensive repair became necessary so decided to replace boiler with new model. Now have good heating engineer and new installation only took one day to complete. Have always been fan of combis as the most efficient way to heat my home and provide instant hot water especially for small number in household. Am hoping this new boiler will serve me well for at least another 10 years.

Had two boilers installed in a new property. So far spent over £5,000 in repairs, spare parts, call outs. On advice from my boiler engineer who had never experienced anything like it, I called Grant in to sort out the problems which they were unable to do effectively. I persevered, each time something went wrong it was just a few more £ to repair and I needed a quick response not available from Grant, so my local engineer helped us out. What a wake up call when I worked out what I had actually spent. I approached Grant again asking them to do something. All I got was prevarication, I had to chase every response and in the end they have just left me with a 'tough luck'. Do you spend £5k+ on boilers and expect them to cost over £5k to maintain? No! Poor service, poor quality, shocking reliability.

We have had our Grant Combi boiler for 8 years. In that time it has broken down 6 times. Grant were very helpful and sent an upgrade kit for our boiler to rid it of a number of unreliable components they had phased out, but it still breaks down. Of course, when it's working, it's excellent, especially unlimited hot water on tap, but I'm sitting here, un-showered, with the prospect of waiting up to three days for a repair, despite having an expensive service agreement with the local heating company! So good customer service, but I'm afraid I will never buy another Grant boiler.

This made our house warm for the first time in years. Our old Rayburn kept the kitchen warm but not the rest of the house so now I can shut the bathroom door which was swollen from the damp and cold, walk around the house in the mornings without shivering and sit and enjoy just being warm!! It is quiet, efficient and takes up hardly any space in the kitchen. I love it.

Needed a wall mounted oil fired boiler to replace one that had packed in. The Grant Vortex Eco was one of the few options available on the market but it has proved to be a good choice. Respected by the Engineers for it's simple no nonsence design, it was supplied and fitted at a great price. Very please so far.

I had a Grant Combi boiler installed in September and it is fantastic. The boiler is quiet, reliable and efficient. My old boiler (a different brand) had been unreliable from new and over the seven years I had spent a considerable amount of money on repairs, even topping up the water in the system on a regular basis. I have not had to do this at all with my new boiler. I love it! So far there isn't anything to dislike. Installation was quick and efficiently accomplished by the installer. I was well informed by the installer as to the benefits of the boiler and I am very pleased all round.

Great boiler, has made our home feel much warmer. It was installed in under a day with a wireless programmer which makes life so much easier. I would not hesitate to recommend this boiler to anybody. There are no compromises, it is not too noisy and takes up only slightly more space than the old boiler it replaced. Now that the newness has burned off there is little odour, although to begin with it was a little overpowering. The only downside is that it seems to create a more powerful exhaust when it fires but consider that a small price to pay for such an efficient unit.

Having been a gas boiler person for ever, the move to an oil boiler was daunting; many scare stories of cost / noise / smell / etc. It has been nothing of the sort. The boiler is very quiet, equally as quiet as my last gas boiler; it is cost effective, I am paying roughly the same for oil as I was for gas; there is no smell as it is outside for a start and it does not smell anyway, the exhaust fumes from a gas boiler smell as well so no comparison. Obviously, I cannot comment of reliability as it is only 7 months old, but everything I have seen so far leads me to believe that it will be a robust long lasting boiler that will provide years of good and cost effective service.

The boiler was purchased as a replacement to an 8 year old Worcester Bosch heatslave external boiler that had suffered seriour reliability problems. It's early day's yet but the performance of the boiler is somewhat better than the Worcester Bosch and the construction looks more solid. Externally it is very similar to Worcester Bosch, internally neater.

We will only use Grant for our combi oil boiler, the products are the very best on the market and are great value! We Highly recommend Grant

The boiler is fantastic, one it is outdoors, 2 it is very quiet. Really happy with the design and cannot fault it. Hopefully it will last for a long while. We would certainly recommend it to all our friends and family. I like how the front panel covers up everything and did I say it is very quiet. Only been installed one day so don't know how economical it is going to be, but by the build quality I don't think we will have any worries.

Had the boiler installed last week and it is working well, very neat and quiet. Boiler was recommended by our installer as they are good value for money and easy to install.

Totally agree with you. We are on our second Grant (external) boiler. We just thought the first one was just bad luck and got talked into having another one. We have the equivalent to triggers broom and now sitting here with no heating and having to top up the pressure to we can get hot water. Topping it up twice a day. Been told it's now the main part that's gone and can't be replaced. We called Grant over the years and even our engineer emailed them with the list of problems, which just kept happening, they too said it was unacceptable. They didn't want to know. Our engineers at a G1 approved installer aswell, so you would think Grant would listen to them, wouldn't you. Looking now for another boiler, but very limited when you have oil. Shame on you GRANT, very poor. I would NEVER EVER EVER give you a good word. The reviews I could be bothered to read were all good but only on very new boilers, give it time people, give it time, when they start going wrong - scrap it and buy something else. Thinking Worcester this time.
