Look at Which Report 4.8

Excellent boiler at an excellent price. This is nothing like the old range of boilers sold at B&Q etc.

Totally redesigned about 5 years ago. It has minimal moving parts and has an excellent warranty for 5 years - just get service book stamped.

Its relatively quiet (fitted in my kitchen) and I fitted the outside thermostat and digital remote. Outside Temperature Control OTC works well and the controls for boiler are easy to understand. Has worked without problems for 4 years now. I rate this much higher than the budget Worcester.

More Leaks Than A Kitchen Colander

I had a boiler installed approximately 3 years ago and I have had the repair man out 3 times. Each time there has been a leak the latest call out had 4 leaks. I am so glad it is under warranty for 5 years but do worry about the future. I will not recommend this boiler ever!

Ferroli Modena He 27c

We've had our Ferroli Modena HE 27c for over 3 years, and are very pleased with it.

It was installed professionally by our regular plumbing engineer. During installation, the system was flushed, inhibitor added, and it was filled with soft water (we live in a hard water area, hence we use a softener). A MagnaClean was added to the system, and the system is controlled by a programmable wireless room thermostat.

Thus far we have had no problems, so are not in a position to comment on Ferroli's customer service, or the 5 year guarantee. We have the boiler serviced annually to comply with the terms of the guarantee.

The boiler is very quiet in operation, and heats our mid-terrace house adequately (our house has 1000 feet of floor space), although the 32c model might have been a better choice. It drives our unpumped thermostatic shower well - the water pressure here is very good.

No negative comments about Ferroli from us!

We've had this boiler for over 8 years now. Still haven't had a single problem with it.

i have been installing the Ferroli Modena HE range for almost three years now,and apart from one PC board failure I have no other issues with any.

They are a breath of fresh air in the boiler market because for me they are easy to install, and with the new programmer timer so easy to use for even the most discerning of customers.

I can honestly say that all of my customers have been very happy with the hot water delivery improvement, especially those with fitted thermostatic showers. Most remark also on the quietness of the boilers when in working mode.

The prices are very competitive.and have brought me an increased workload which I'm very happy about.

Exploit Customers Over Part Quality And Price.

What can i say, after 6 months this boiler began to go. First it was supposed to be the fan, then it was the PCB, after the PCB blew a fuse after Replacement, We decided to just throw the thing out. It was just eating money.

Spend money on a boiler preferably with at least a 5 year warranty.

It has a 5 year Warranty ? The service under warranty is excellent.

How can it be eating your money ?

garygsax

Dont get it ? why was it costing you to repair after 6 months when it should have been under warranty for at least 5 years, me thinks you did not registered the boiler, had it installed by a unregistered fitter, installed it incorrectly, so its your own fault.

Dont know which model it is, I have fitted more than 160 Modena 32c HE's never had a problem with them, my customers love them and with a 7 year warranty !

Slugbabydotcom

There must be some crossed wires here at least! If you are referring to any of the previous models made in the last ten years [optimax and domicondens for example] I would wholeheartedly agree with you.

Ferroli re-used the name modena because that was the last decent boiler they ever made until the new HE series. These new ones come with a minimum 2 years warranty and have now a 7 years warranty since around the date of your post.

Why didn't you get them to repair it under the warranty? I can only assume it wasn't correctly installed according to manufacturers instructions and not even been registered! Then you have changed parts yourself until it didn't work because you haven't installed those parts correctly!

I have installed about 20 of these and the only one that did have a problem was replaced with very little fuss.

Over the past 2 years I have fitted about 15 of these boilers and only had to call Ferroli twice, once to replace hot water outlet connection leaking from body and 2nd time to replace leaking main heat exchanger which local Ferroli rep has taken details to trace assembly history at factory. All my customers have been pleased with their new boilers including the 2 customers who had to have work done. User controls are simple, quiet in operation, fits in small spaces and price is good. Dislikes are fiddly condensate drain seal which I believe is being modified, and occasional fan requiring moulding mark removal from plastic cover inner face responsible for whining noise.

Ferroli Modena 32s He

We are gas fiters and have just installed the new Farroli Modena

We were very reluctant to do so as the old Farrolis were proberley the worst boilers out .

But the new Farroli are easy to install and work great.

We have fitted 7 of them now with no problems.

Worst Boiler Manufacturer On The Market

hi I am a boiler repair man and am constantly being called out to these boilers and the Ferolli brand, they are a joke and the parts are massively expensive £300 for the pump £500 for the heat exchanger, please please please do not waste your money on these

Hi

I agree that the old Optimax is a very poor boiler although when working is excellent but certainly has it´s problems with leaks etc.

I would love to know where you buy your spares from because the prices you have quoted are extremely inflated and to be honest why do you change the whole pump when you can change just the head its only a Grundfos or some cases a Wilo.

Saying all the above the Modena range is excellent I specialize mainly in repairs rather than install. but what I have installed re the Modena I have only been back to service no repairs it comes with a 7 year parts and labour and is extremely easy to fit.

In my opinion most boilers suffer due to the installers rough handling failing to comply with the MFI I have been to so many installs less than a year old to find the system water filthy where the incorrect cleaning or lack of has been carried out no inhibitor used or the incorrect amount.

Not saying this is you but in general a lot of installers thing the boiler can be hung on the wall and thats it how wrong they are.

New Ferroli Modena

I have recently installed a new Ferroli Modena HE 32 kilowatt combi for a customer that has been very loyal to me over the years. I was a bit reluctant to install this boiler but after speaking to my local rep and seeing the boiler running at a training centre, i was very impressed and decided to give it a go. I must say im very pleased with the boiler but more importantly my customer is delighted. The boiler is very small and easy to install which made things easier as it was a cylinder cupboard job!! The most impressive thing is how quiet it is even in DHW mode @ 100%. You can barely hear the thing.

Well done Ferroli, it looks like you managed to produce a much better boiler this time and less than £700 for a boiler with a 7 year warranty? I for one will be using them a lot.

I would have to agree with this review, I was very pleasantly surprised with the Ferroli Modena when I fitted my first one last week, small, light, quiet and quick to install. Thumbs up from me too!

We have been advised by our installer that Ferroli in the past did not enjoy the best reputation but the Modena HE is Ferroli response to this however limited reviews i.e. two of are completely contradictory. Is there more advice out there on this particular boiler?
