When I preach the gospel of tim tams to other people they mostly just think that they sound nice, especial the double choc variant. However British people tend to think that they pale in comparison to their penguin biscuits that are similar. I have a little story about that. I was once on a plane and happened to be sitting next to three irish girls coming into australia for a working holiday. It being an australian flight we were given a tim tam with our meal. I had struck up a conversation with the girl next to me and offered her my tim tam as she was no doubt going to want it (and i am always looking for converts). She said she wouldn't need it because they just looked like penguin biscuits and they weren't anything special. After her meal and her own tim tam she sheepishly reached for mine which i had left unattended within arms reach. Conversion complete. While they aren't expensive at all (2-3$ a packet) I do wish they were cheaper so I could always have more.
