Actually read this book while I was on a trip to Everest Base Camp last year. What an amazing read. You can't believe that something like that could happen...just unfathomable.

Jon Krakauer, Into Thin Air: Personal Account of the Everest Disaster - Comprehensive, firsthand story of Everest climber and journalist on an expedition which turned bad. Really gets you into the whole atmosphere of high professional mountaneering, which from the author's view has become not so professional.
