Old Golden Hen, craft beer. Best served at around 10 degrees - not too cold as it kills the flavour! The beer has a nice transparent orange colour with a very soft fizz when you pop the cap. The beer has a lovely sweet chalky smell. As you take a mouthful from the bottle it creates a tingling fizz in your mouth. This quickly dies down to release a super malty hit at the back of your tongue that sweetly spreads throughout your mouth as you swallow the brew. A distinctive light hoppy satisfying taste remains in your mouth before you reach for another satisfying slurp! Lovely beer, easy to drink on a summers day and just at home at winter with the heating keeping you toasty warm. Price is great - Morrisons for example was doing 4 bottles for £6 (7 euros) Strength is 4.1% and is 2.1 units per 500ml serving. Brewed by Morland and they class it as a craft beer. Mass produced and has a micro brewary quality to it. 5 out of 5 if you like real ale - 3.75 out of 5 if you are a connoisseur of real ale ( just too fizzy for a true real ale ) CHEERS AND GET IT DOWN YA!
