We've had this mattress form over 7 years now and we still love it. It was a fantastic price and we are delighted that it has lasted us longer than the last mattress we bought that cost an arm and a leg. My husband is a pretty hefty guy and he lives Tha fact that it does support his weight and for me it has just the perfect feel where it isn't too soft not too hard. The other thing I really like about it are the handles on the side that make moving the mattress a breeze. Not cheap plastic handles that you often see on other mattresses.

We bought the IKEA Sultan Hamno queen size bed used and we both love sleeping on it. We have it on a plate form bedframe with slates from IKEA. After reading the other reviews I was very surprised how good this mattress really is. I'd suggest getting a mattress if you like a somewhat firm mattress, or get one for your kids or guest room - great buy!

Bought this mattress and a bed frame when I moved house. 5 years ago. I anticipated replacing in 10 years as mostly recommended and I am the only one sleeping on it.... I had to buy a foam topper to put on it as it was too firm but I did not mind that.....BUT it is now very unfomfortable and sags badly in the middle. I really thought it would last a lot longer. I am now going back to buying a divan with a pocket sprung mattress with a memory fowm layer at the top. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

This mattress is excellent, really comfortable. I would say it is a firm mattress but is moulds to your body. We have had ours for 6 years and it is still as good as it was the day we brought it home! My only negative is simply that it is hard to get fitted sheets to fit it comfortably as it is so deep.

I can't understand the bad reviews for this mattress. It is the best spent money I have had in years. I used to get pains all over my body and not sleep well but since buying it several years ago its like having a new life. It is so compy I keep waking up with my children all piled in bed with me as they love it too. All I can think is that others have not bought the right mattress for the way they sleep as not everyone suits a firm mattress. I spent a lot of time researching and finding the right one for me and this one is defintly it.

I have had this mattress over 5 years; literally the most comfortable mattress I've ever had. I flip it every few months. No sagging problems. I am average weight, my boyfriend is 300 lbs+, handles the weight just fine. Not sure why everyone else has such big problems with this mattress.

Worst matress ever purchased, too hard, dips in the middle and the worst nights sleep ever. Have used matress for 12 months, thinking it just needed to be "worn in" and also it was the first firm matress we had purchased so we initially thought the problem was us not the product. Have now bought another matress and will not be stupid enough to believe the literature and the 'supposed' sleep expertise.

Worst mattress ever, sagging badly after 3 years and we had to replace. We've hated it for a year now and were convinced since new that one side was higher than the other! we always felt like we were sleeping on a slope! Mis-shaped and mattress seems to bulge in places around the walls of it. NOT GOOD! we are calling Ikea tomorrow... 25 year guarantee, we will see.

Don't buy one. We have just ordered a decent mattress from Silentnight. They have about 3 times as many springs, and come with a 5 year guarantee. They are also not too much more to buy than the appalling mattress we bought from Ikea 2 years ago. It was Ok for about 4 months and has been deteriorating ever since !! Useless ! I am currently on it and slumped into a hole in the middle where it has sagged. Appalling !! We sometimes go camping and wake up more refreshed after a night on the airbed. If you like to wake up with back ache and sleep badly buy an Ikea mattress !!!

I've had this mattress for over 3 years now and I don't have any complaint. It is a firm mattress so for those of you who like firm mattresses this one is a great choice. It really feels like new.

Now even my husband is complaining-no amount of turning the mattress works, Im off to buy a myers pocket sprung now (which I had a single version of) so I can get some good sleep...even if its going to cost me £300.

We had a battle with Ikea over our Hamno mattress.....of course we got nowhere! We have a rental property abroad (Turkey) and bought 2 of these mattresses for it. We were really impressed with the comfort when we stayed there and bought one for ourselves after 2 visits.
This mattress we bought from Edinburgh did not resemble the others in any way at all (other than looks!)the previous ones were definitely medium firmness, but our new one was extremely firm. As with most people who have reviewed the Hamno, the lack of give in the mattress meant we had back & neck pain, sore ribs & hips and at some points real sleep deprevation.
We had been cautious and tried out the mattress in our local ikea's showroom before buying. We went back to check again after our purchase, and the difference between the showroom mattress and ours was marked. After our complaint, the display matrress was changed, and this new one was as firm as the one we had at home! The fact that some people think the Hamno is the best bed ever suggests they may be inconsistent in manufacture. In this case, you just can't trust it at all.
As we found to our cost, Ikea Edinburgh's policy is to say no to everything! They did exchange it, but there was no difference, and the exchange guarantee was no good as there was no other medium mattress to exchange for.
They were clearly in the wrong, as the mattress tested was not the mattress received (in store staff confirmed this to us) but when we researched going to court, it would be costly if we lost. Perhaps they'd have caved if we went that far, but we're sure they'd have a good lawyer if they let it go that far! Customer service at Ikea doesn't exist, so don't expect it. You buy a mattress, you're stuck with it.
In the end we were sleeping on our sofa bed (not that comfy either, but better than the hamno) so we had no choice really but to pay out again and we bought a great mattress from a proper bed shop and paid for it on finance.
Having furnished almost our whole house, and our rental property, from Ikea to the tune of a few thousand pounds, they didn't consider it was worth £200 - odd to preserve customer satisfaction! Instead they lied to our faces!
In future we will go elsewhere!

This matress lasted 3 years. I flip the mattress at least every other month, but it now has a sever dip in the middle, my back is killing me and I'm no longer getting good sleep. I used to get a few good weeks before having to flip it, but now flipping does not good whatsoever. Bad product, bad value. I would not recommend ikea mattresses to anyone now.

Have had 2 of these Hamno mattress's from Ikea, after, without any problem what so ever, they changed it for us after a year because of sagging, we now are awaiting our 3rd mattress repleacement from Ikea but Not the Hamno the SULTAN HJELM S so will let you know how we get on!! Ikea were brilliant for after sales and customer service we really cant fault them, exchanged to a more expensive mattress this time with no extra charge as a gesture of good will due to it being the 2nd time. Could have had a refund but would rather stay with them as they really try to sort things out and get an independent review on the item that is faulty.

First three nights of purchasing the mattress i woke up with sever back pain and had to move myself to the carpeted floor where i slept for a week until I went out and purchased a new mattress. I had 2 other people sleep on the mattress as well for a night and they each complained of back pain the next morning as well. This is the worse mattress EVER!

The salesperson was uniformed about the product. This should have been the first sign that the Ikea Sultan Hamno mattress was not very good quality!

I have had this Ikea Sultan Hamno mattress for 2+ years and have been loving it!

I have not experienced any of the sag the other reviewers have complained of, and I only flip my mattress once every 3 months or so. Be warned, if you like a bed that you literally sink into, this is NOT for you. I love firmer mattresses, and this has just enough spring to it that it is supportive without being too hard or uncomfortable. I always wake up feeling refreshed. I would recommend that any potential buyer try the mattress with their specific set up in-store; i.e. if you are using a box spring, try the mattress with a box spring instead of slats to get a good feel for it.

My mattress is an ikea twin size mattress, which I use with a day bed that has wooden slats for support (no box spring).

Overall, I have been extremely happy with this mattress and can find no fault with it.

The Ikea Sultan Hamno is one of the worst product I have used in my Within 5 months I started getting bad back life.
