“AVOID AVOID AVOID”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AracelyHoward on 17/12/2018

AVOID AVOID AVOID! Amongst a multitude of serious mistakes made, the main reason is that the owner, Scott had to be physically removed from my flat by another tradesman. I have since got another plumber in to rectify all the mistakes made, which were: - They diverted shower, toilet and sink waste into a RAIN pipe – yes - rain, not a waste pipe - Used water pipes instead of waste pipes - Used the wrong size of pipes, the pipes they used were significantly too small - Used 3 right hand bends within the pipes instead of a curve - Was told by the owner I needed scaffolding for a week, which I got. This ended up not being used.  I made it clear this was not coming out of my pocket.  They also often left my toilet in my main bathroom in a disgusting state, which is extremely unprofessional. When my husband called the owner about the issues, he was, again, shouted and sworn at then hung up on. Thankfully, no one had used the new toilet yet, as these issues arose so quickly, but seeing brand new carpet, floor boards and bathroom tiles ripped up was an awful experience. So all in all the worst tradesmen I have ever encountered, and hopefully this review stops anyone having to go through what we did.

I've taken so long to reply because this has been deeply upsetting. As God is my witness, not to mention the tradesmen present, there was no yelling, no swearing, and certainly no lunging - what a shocking accusation.
In not one review, across all platforms, is there a single criticism of the quality of our installations - not one. I have the highest regard for the shear effort and skill my fitters deliver. We are one of the busiest independent fitters in the city, booked months ahead on the strength of our product. One of the comments regularly made about us is how respectful and tidy we are.
Our relationship soured when you refused to make a final payment because you grasped an opportunity to hold me responsible when the free scaffolding you enthusiastically arranged (because your friend owned the company) was positioned under your neighbours window rather than your own. Suddenly the lads weren’t allowed to use the toilet and had to work under the pressure of open hostility.
My fitters and I, and our families, hope to move on from this stressful episode. I hope you can too.

“Great plumbers poor organiser”

★★★☆☆

written by dannydoherty on 29/08/2017

Our bathroom was completed on 4th May, 2017, and a very good job indeed. However, we first put on our heating, albeit briefly, on 9th July and a small pool of water appeared on the radiator cap. So, my wife contacted the project manager. on 10th July and 19th July without a response. She again emailed on 4th August and he agreed to call. He called Friday 11th August. He came without tools and borrowed my shifter and made the leak worse so that we woke to a pool of water in the bathroom; it would be 5 days before plumber might come! On 12th August I wrote an angry email telling them not to come back but send the plumber.  Here is his response; from 12 Aug at 10:44 AM “ I visited to make an assesment only. On seeing it was nothing more than the blank cap I attempted to tighten it, which made it worse. So, as I explained to your wife, I closed the radiator to stop the filling loop from pushing more water in to the towel rail and therefore out of the leaking cap. Yes it may have continued to leak slowly as the final pressure bled out. I explained that this would at least prevent it from leaking continually over the weekend until the plumber could arrive. Both the plumber and I find it strange that this leak should appear 5 months after fitting. To appear now would indicate the possibility that it has been adjusted in some way, but being a company who aim to please we give the benefit of the doubt and still offer our services to repair free of charge. … To deliver a beautiful new shower room, expertly finished, with no grounds to find fault, and to give up my time to pop by and make an assesment, and to have my good will met with such vitriol is simply offensive. How dare you speak to me like that! It's behaviour like that that leaches people's belief in the basic decency of others. I now find myself in a position where you insult my integrity, but still expect me to send my full time staff, with me for 5 years, one of my team, to run along and attend to you. Incidentally, the plumber is working in Linwood all week and you are quite the diversion, so it may be a 5 minute job, but it's the best part of a two hour round journey given traffic. That's why it makes sense to schedule an appointment when he isn't so far away. I'm absolutely disgusted and in shock by your message. I'm happy to send the plumber out to replace that part so as I never have to deal with such vile behaviour again. I will however let the plumber know what has transpired and leave him to decide how to deal with it. Please do not contact me again.” Needless to say, I had to call out a plumber (£100) who found a pin hole in the radiator cap (manufacturing fault) that had been plugged with a grease which obviously melted when I turned on the heating. So, be sure not to have any problems after the installation of your beautiful bathroom.

Fpsbathrooms's Response to dannydoherty's Review

I visited to assess if any parts where needed, as I had informed your wife, because I have to maximise my fitters time. On seeing the leak was coming from a nut I asked if your wife had a shifting spanner and attempted to give it a tighten. This made it worse, but lets be clear, it was a little bead of water at worse. I closed the radiator valves to isolate it from the heating loop, and informed your wife that I would tell him to return with a replacement bleed valve cap. This job would have taken 2 minutes with the right parts. I was attempting to save him the added journey time of visting, then leaving to pick up the part. I visited on the Monday, and arranged for him to return on Wednesday with the part. You reacted very strongly when you realised it hadnt been fixed there and then, and where really very abusive in an email. You have also attempted to hatchet my reputation with your vicious reviews. All this in spite of the fact you have a beautiful bathroom, at a price you loved, and we were responding, at no cost, even though the part we needed to replace was all chewed by someones DIY attempts. In all my years of plumbing, I have never seen a pinhole fault in a brass fitting, and if there should be one, there is no solution for fixing one, so it is a fabrication to suggest we left a faulty item. Please refrain from circulating any more vitriol. This may be a strong response, but I feel justified in the knowledge we deliver the highest quality bathrooms, and will not tolerate false reports on our conduct.
