Coventry First offer an interest paying current account. Fine. If all you need is a debit card and can live with autospeech navigations systems. What they do not offer is a cheque book. Very old fashioned but some eight times during a year I have to write a cheque for traders that do not have any credit card facility. Not something to anticipate seven days in advance and get my non-existent local branch to prepare for the exact amount yet to be established. I do not carry cash. I need a current account with a cheque book. Simple. It is tosh. This is NOT a Current Account. A glorified savings account with cut-down interest rates, if you so choose.
