The Norton Utilities 8.0 Mac package is a good piece of software with some good easy to use tools but it suffers from a few serious flaws that stop me from recommending it. I'm using Panther and I think this software is set up to run with Jaguar and so doesn't work properly.
Updates are released quite often but they do seem to lag behind the official apple updates. IF you run this on a panther machine it will find lots of errors on the hard disk due to the different architectures. An update has been released but this doesn't update the boot CD and so doesn't completely solve the problem.
Another issue is that once you perform the update the software is not backwards compatible and so will not work with Jaguar. When you have all the little problems sorted out it is a good piece of software and does do what it says on the box. So to sum up recommended if you're sure it will work on your system.
