“I read they was good enough for the Queen ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by paulturbo on 28/06/2021

I bought mine from a genuine ebay seller for my 81 year old mother so its easier for her to open and close with just a push of a button. that luxury was very short lived as only the second day of using it some thing flew off it and it still opens and closes with the button but it won't stay locked open. the part that does that has just fell off it. appalling made rubbish if you ask me, I've now requested a refund or another item, I'll gladly return it to the seller they can see how brand new it still is....

“Absolute Garbage”

★☆☆☆☆

written by EmanuelWilson393 on 28/01/2016

After having owned and used an elder model for years on end and being extremly satisfied, I decided to stay loyal and buy another. It was rather poor that I had to pay for the shipping of my item too, but after reading about the quality "assurance" and the excellent technology where it won't bend in wind, I went in for it. It didn't rain for a while and so I waited to have an opportunity to use it. Once it did rain, the umbrella flipped over, multiple times. It's stupidly infurating and I don't believe that I'm even entitled to a refund. Now I seev why they have removed their "warranty" on their umbrellas and explicitly state it now.

“Expensive but rubbish quality”

★★☆☆☆

written by Bowersyw235 on 30/03/2015

I received as a present a Fulton traditional style umbrella with a polished wood handle (the best bit). Compared to my previous non Fulton umbrella, this new one leaves much to be desired. In comparison to my previous traditional style umbrella this one Is undersize and just about accommodates one person. However being undersize no longer matters because this product is not robust or well made and uses inferior materials i.e. the stays that are used in it's construction. The stays are that weak and of such poor quality that this umbrella is not suitable to be used in certain windy conditions. Given it was pouring with rain the morning I needed to use an umbrella to go to the local shop. Accordingly and as it was handy I used the above mentioned umbrella - mistake! Within a few hundred yards of home the wind got up a bit (not excessive) but sufficient to cause one of the umbrella stays to bend and fracture. I have to conclude so far as my experience is concerned that Fulton umbrellas sell on a name but not on quality. I now need another umbrella but it most definitely will not be a Fulton as I no longer have confidence in this brand.

“Expensive but badly made”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/10/2014

Having three Fulton umbrellas in my household, all broke within one year, with the last one breaking in the last four months! I would happily return them to Fulton so they review the faulty part. All of them had the main bar breaking easily - basically when extending the bar, it breaks! As this is pretty expensive for an umbrella (approx 30 CAD), is made in china anyway, like all the other cheaper versions, I will stop throwing my money at Fulton and buy cheap umbrellas.

“Would never buy again ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Mayan73 on 16/10/2014

I ordered a birdcage umbrella for my sisters birthday, advertises next day delivery by courier, it never turned up, they sent another by post, then like buses, two umbrellas were delivered, my sister hated it and said the quality was awful and product not as good as advertised. Had to pay to return it, would only refund by cheque even though I paid by credit card online, then had to wait 2 weeks for my cheque, how they got their Royal Warrant I will never know !

“Bad Quality, No value for Money, Bad service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Karat95 on 30/09/2014

Early this summer I bought Fulton's "OPEN & CLOSE-12, WEAVE PRINT GREY" Umbrella, costing £19.00. For this money, you expect it to last long and good quality. I just used it 3 times, just 3 times!! and it broke!. One of the rib section broke. I assure you, it was not used anyway that would be deemed abnormal. And this summer has been kind, we did not have hurricane speed winds ;) I reported the issue to Fulton Customer service, they examined the photos I sent, and said it is not covered by the warranty. This is appalling quality, if a so called "premier" umbrella could not withstand 3 uses, it is very sad. There is no difference in a umbrella from a pound-land to the ones from Fulton, paying £19.00. Perhaps the poundland ones may last longer. When I bought this umbrella for a premium price, I was told that I have a novel/premier product, it is just waste of money, absolutely no value for the money. I would not recommend it to anyone, you are better off buying an umbrella for less than a fiver and it might last longer. -Unhappy Customer

“FULTON 11" COMPACT”

★★★★★

written by rosssinclair on 09/02/2014

I already had a fulton 11 compact which I keep in one of my cars and has served me well for several years. having another car my fulton was always in the wrong vehicle when it rained so I decided to buy another umbrella and fancied something quite special so went on the internet and came across DAVEK which had good reviews so I bought one at a cost of £89.00 When it arrived the build quality just wasn't there, the handle came of in my hand, it blew inside out twice within a few yards so I sent it back and received a refund. I then ordered another Fulton 11 compact which like the other is fantastic. Will never buy a different make again. Well done Fulton, keep up the good work.

“won't buy again”

written by on 01/11/2012

Two weeks ago I spent $30.00 plus tax on one of your umbrellas as did my father. Mine was used twice, my father's once. Both bought at Shopper's. Neither of us was able to get our money back as we did not save our receipts. Expected $30. umbrellas to last longer.

“Fulton Birdcage Umbrella”

★★★★★

written by on 08/06/2012

I bought my mom a Birdcage Umbrella and am extremely happy with the product. My mom hates wind and often will avoid going out in windy conditions as it tends to give her a headache. I read somewhere that a Fulton Birdcage Umbrella is ideal for people who hate windy weather as the dome protects you from all weather conditions. My mom first didnt think that the umbrella would make any difference but now doesnt leave the house without it! Be however aware for fake Birdcage umbrellas, my friend bought a fake birdcage umbrella which broke during the first month of use. I bought mine at http://www.fultonumbrella.co.uk and was verry happy with the service, delivery and price!

“Fulton ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/05/2012

Bought myself an "OPEN & CLOSE-12 weave print gray. So it does not look as it's showed on the photo, cheaply made and could not be considered as even a decent umbrella, just because I needed some kind of a rain protection, so probably I'll get it back to the shop.

“WindBreaker - Broken in the wind”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 01/05/2012

The Fulton Windbreaker was great until it encountered the wind. On a 50 metre walk from the car park to the office my windbreaker suffered irreparable damage. It wasn’t excessively windy and I had expected more from this £19 product. In reality a 99p alternative would have lasted longer. Disappointed, especially given the product name!

“I bought the Fulton Superslim after I swore I would...”

★★★★☆

written by TallulahPink on 29/04/2009

I bought the Fulton Superslim after I swore I would never buy a compact umbrella again (all my others came to an untimely end usually due to a gust of wind). But after growing tired of carrying around a big umbrella (and forgetting to take it with me because it wouldn't fit in my bag) I decided to take the plunge again and buy another compact. I'm really glad that I did as this is the best umbrella I have ever owned.

I've never had a Fulton umbrella but on purchasing it I could tell that it was very good quality, well made and the attached tag claimed the aluminium / fibreglass frame made it small yet effective. The recommended retail price of these is around £15 but I got mine elsewhere for much less!

The Fulton Superslim is the slimmest, lightest Fulton umbrella ever produced (3cm long and only 125g) yet it's full size when open. Mine is a deep pink colour with bright pink glitter within the fabric (called glitter plum, very girly!). The fabric seems very durable, it's actually different to normal umbrella fabric, it seems almost like plastic so that instead of going soggy like umbrellas tend to when they get wet, the rain slides straight off rather than absorbing which means it dries much quicker too. The case is nice, made from the same fabric and with a Fulton tag.

I've only given this an 8 because on the tags that were attached to the umbrella when I bought it (unfortunately I've thrown them away so can't quote them) they appeared to boast about how much stronger this is compared to regular umbrellas and for it's size. I have found the umbrella to be strong and not as flimsy as you would expect for such a tiny umbrella, but I would say it doesn't seem any stronger than normal compact umbrellas and I think I expected more.
