“Poor reliability and performance”

written by 379Barton on 23/05/2014

Owned a shogun then L200 manual then went for current L200 auto. Land Rover rival off rd, (from practical experience), excellent fit and finish, equipment and trim. Great looks, very comfortable on long trips with my bad back. From new 18 months and 23,000 miles, 3 times on recovery truck, 4 times to dealer under own steam all for diesel particulate filter. Dealer faultless , Mitsubishi cars obstructive and unhelpful to dealer and myself. When I complained to Mitsubishi cars I was made to feel stupid and a time waster. My driving was blamed despite my doing around 60% on m'way/dual carriagway. If you are not familiar with DPF, it will block up if most driving is urban and fail. This can happen with ALL new diesels, inc. Audi, Ford etc etc. The Auto gearbox is slow, does not change down when on hills on B rds or M'ways if using cruise control till you get down to 27mph so you have to use kick down all the time or use manual change, slower changes than a Rover 213 I once had in 1980...whats the point of an auto if you have to change gear 80% of the time yourself? Towing 2 ton plus: 15-18 mpg Non towing 22-26 mpg. Several topup fills and mile checks done to confirm.
