“Great picture but lots of frustrating issues”

★★★☆☆

written by on 30/11/2015

The positives for this TV are that it's a fantastic clear picture on HD and non HD channels via Freeview. We've only had the TV two weeks but have found lots of frustrating negative issues. Had we known about these, we would not have bought the TV set. The negatives are: It takes up to 10 seconds to load the programme guide, and then it's difficult to scroll through. You can't use the arrow keys on the channels straight away, you have to move the arrow to the current programme (as it starts off in the top right corner) and often you can only scroll down the channels showing on the guide screen, there's no way of jumping to the next screen. The magic remote can be used instead of the normal remote, and the current or next programmes can be seen (visible over the current programme being viewed) however, they take a long time to load too, and often just say 'no information'. It also takes about 10 seconds to change channels - it's really frustrating. When pressing '101' for BBC1 HD, it takes a while for the numbers to appear on the screen, so I end up pressing 10111. Once the numbers are on screen, it then takes time to change the channel. When using a soundbar (and we have the LG one), the sound is lower for HD channels, so it's very frustrating that you have to keep putting it up or down when you view a different channel. If the DVD recorder is on prior to switching on the TV, the TV will say 'no signal' and not allow you to watch any TV channels, unless you go onto the DVD channel and watch them via that. Very very frustrating and annoying. Changing the input devices from TV to DVD is very long winded. So, I'm just being honest here and I would love to know how the above issues can be solved.
