“reasonable machine at a fair price”

★★★☆☆

i have owned my lexmoto vixen bike for just over a year and a half and covered about 2000 miles. generally speaking this bike is ok for the money but the finish in places is poor. in particular the chrome is cheap quality and soon begins to flake off. make sure you keep the sidestand switch well greased or you will end up with running problems including misfires and cutting out. chains are weak too and soon stretch but after market ones are readily available. don,t over tighten the exhaust bolts, they are prone to snapping. some owners don,t like the stock tyres either though personally i haven,t had any problems. again be careful when filling the petrol tank. it is eay to overfill because the plunger is quite long. the manual says it holds 12.5 litres but from empty i only manged 11.74 litres and petrol started weeping out from the cap.

although there are flaws with this bike they can be dealt with easily. there is an established forum dedicated to these bikes with lots of tips and advice. some owners have put respectable mileages on their bikes while others have customised theirs. i have left mine stock to see how long it will last as a standard bike.if you service these bikes on a regular basis especially oil changes they will last ok. realistically expect about 80-100 mpg with mixed riding and a top speed of about 60mph.

in summary i would say these bikes represent good value for money especially if you are cash strapped. looked after these can and do last for many years but they still aren,t as refined as some other 125s especially the japs. having said that they are considerably cheaper, a no brainer really.

remember this bike is really cheap to buy and run and as a commuter or a starter bike is good value for money especially if you are on a tight budget.

they can rust very quickly, but again if you stay on top of them they aren,t any worse than many other bikes. regular washing then treating with A.C.F. usually does the trick. my son has a Honda cbf 125 which has rusted very quickly.
