    Hi,

I'm looking for a 25" 4:3 TV. Now narrow down to:

    1. Panasonic TX28CK1 (240 pounds)

    2. Samsung CD25D83NS (180 pounds)

Samsung comes with one extra scart connector.

    Anyone knows about these TVs/brands?

I am wondering if panasonic worths the 60 pounds difference. Any advice?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

If your looking for a 25" TV, why are you thinking of getting the 28" Panasonic???

I personally would go for the Samsung, as it has more scart sockets, so it's easier to hook up your Video, DVD Digibox etc... I think the picture is good too.

There are some complaints about Samsung on this website, however I have never had a problem and remember the views expressed on this site are from a minority.

it all comes down to price, all you pay for is the name.some cheaper tv,s sometimes come with a few more features,as for picture, the tubes are probably by the same manufacturer,so go for the cheapest and save some dosh.

My thread is easy 2 read wots the prob ?????

I am only trying 2 let people know that if u buy SAMSUNG & then av a problem they will not want 2 know as their after care stinks.

I had 5 months of hell with them i got my tv changed 2 another brand in the end as every time it came back from repair it was still faulty & damaged 2 this day i am still waiting 4 a phone call from them about the damage so if i were u id pay a little extra or just not buy SAMSUNG.

    Thanks, everyone, for advising.

There's a mistake in my previous post. The Panasonic model should TX25CK1.

    Hi,

Well my uncle and my Dad both own a Panasonic TV and it's an excellent picture and I've owned in the past a Samsung TV.

    Panasonic

    1) You hold the remote's power button for a couple of seconds to get the TV in/out of standbye mode.

    2) To choose a scart point 1/2 by choosing the corresponding colour button after you access it ie for SCART 1/2 and also if need be S-Video/RGB signal being received through the scart.

    Samsung

    1) No need to hold for a couple of seconds

    2) Press the A/V button on the remote to access SCART but if playing something back through the scart ie VHS/DVD it will automatically change from TV to SCART and if you press button with the square image/box on it and it will change back to normal TV channels.

    -----

Both the above TVs have good colour definition quality but the Panasonic has the edge on that with a slightly sharper picture and bonus to that it has 2 SCART points giving you the option scart 1 of a DVD player and scart 2 the Sky Digibox/NTL digital box and/or VHS recorder

    So 2 scarts are better as you can see and if there isn't manual try this Panasonic homepage link for one;

Sad Anyone out there experiencing problems with defective Samsung SP524 Rear Projection TV sets that leak coolant should email me at wadsworth@amerind.com.au with a view to commencing a class action to have these pieces of rubbish replaced by the manufacturer.
