I have recently purchased this TV new and have had it serviced already due to bad focus at the edges of the screen, picture bending inwards when not watching widescreen broadcast.

I think I need some help explaining this in technical terms to the service people as they either

    a. think im making it up

    b. think im being picky

So please help ... I just need to know what the technical terms are for the fuzziness at the edge of the screen and the bending of the picture.

    Many Thanks

Well, firstly this could be due to something magnetic that has not been sheilded as being to close to the TV screen ie magnet in a speaker or if it was display model that you bought then maybe somebody left something magnetic near for over a very long period of time which permanently damaged it by distorting and than cause rainbow style colouring with distortion of the picture.

Another reason could be that the projection gun in the TV tube itself is faulty that it projects the signal onto the surface wrongly or an electronic chip/capacitor/resistor maybe at fault.

You may need to contact the manufacturer and pose the question to them and they may know the answer or could direct you to a recognised TV engineer.

One other answer try to going to you newsagents ir WH Smith and look for the TV/Satellite Engineer's magazine on the shelf as they talk about known problemtatic TVs and give solutions to what exactly the problem is and you can even contact via it for a solution.

    Hope that helps
