Hi,
I was with fresh telecom on pay as you go for nearly 3 years from when they first started, I was introduced to fresh by the Car Phone Warehouse who set the company up. I didnt see the point in getting a contract as at the time I didnt really have a need for a phone. Then back in December 2003 I got a letter from fresh along with a promotional flyer, They were offering all their existing pay as you go customers (A free handset on selected tarrifs) it took me a while to decide but after consideration and the fact that both Trium Mars phones I got from The Car Phone Warehouse over the 3 year period were not working properly anymore I decided to go with it, (the ariels fell out of the first phone and the CPW wanted me to pay nearly the cost of the phone to send it off to Japan to have it fixed, this would leave me for several weeks with no phone so I just got another one, the same thing happened)
I called the number and agreed to a contract for £19.48 per month including fully itemised bill, 50 free texts, 30 mins free talk time to any network and a free siemens mc60 handset, (great I thought) "can I keep my old pay as you go number as it was also from your network" I asked
"yes no problem" was the reply "would you like to purchase insurance?" I was asked,
"yes" I replied
It went on like this for a while (all the usual things you would expect) and not forgetting the contract would be sent to me through the post.
2 days later my new phone arrived, (with a new sim card and a new number) when I called to ask about this I was told \"there is no way our sales team would offer to keep your old number as fresh cant transfer numbers\"??????????????????????????????????????????
I decided not to take the matter further and not to cancle the contract so I kept the new number.
Then on 8th March my phone was stolen, I called and reported it and the handset was blocked and the sim was canceled,
\"we will send you a new sim in the next few days\" i was told
I was thentransfered to insurance who told me \"sorry you are not insured\" (but I was offered and acepted insurance when I signed up to the contract) (the same contract that had still not arrived in the post).
To cut the rest of this long story short, from 8th march till 10th april I made many calls to fresh who kept saying \"a new sim will be sent to you and we will not charge you line rental for the period until you have a new sim\" in the end I got hold of somone who told me that I have to go and buy a sim from the CPW and they will credit me with the £4.99 cost and transfer my number acrossto the new sim (so they can transfer numbers)?????????????????????????????????????????
I brought my new sim card on 10th may and it took about 5 minuts to transfer the number, It is now 17th May and I can not make calls from my number and have been told it is because I have not payed my line rental since March, (\"we will not charge you line rental\") I had been told about 8 times since the phone was stolen and (\"we will send you a new sim\").
I have now been without a phone since 8th March, I have spent lots of time and money calling fresh customer services who seem to be very well trained in the art of bare faced lying and even the line managers and supervisers are not interested, I have written to and not heard back from the comlaints people in West London and after being told by 2 seperate supervisers \"we will sort this issue out and call you back before the end of the day\" I have still not heard back in the whole 70 days and have had no phone, I only have a sim because I went out and bought one and I have still not recieved a copy of the contract. I feel that I was foolish enough to allow myself to be conned into a contract, fresh have breached the contract on several occasions, I have been lied to countless times and as soon as you agree to a contract with these people they are only interested in taking your money and sending you threatning letters.
Needless to say, my contract will not be renewed with fresh and I now feel it my duty to tell as many people about them as possible, I have also had issues with the CPW as a result of this and will never set foot in one of their stores either (except maybe to warn people not to have anything to do with fresh)
Thanks all, wow its theraputic isnt it. -

It is now 2-6-04
I have now had a text (they didnt even bother to phone me) from the Carphone Warehouse, they are now threatning to cut my phone off if I dont call them and send them money for the line rental.
They need to make their mind up, they said they would cancel the linerental for the time they left me with no phone.
Thay really are on some sort of SCAM,
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
