Flat irons

I'm doing a consumer report for a class on flat irons. I wanted to know if anyone can give me feedback on the Farouk CHI hairstyling iron or the Sunbeam Salon Professional Slim Straightener. Basically, why or why not you would recommend one of these products, how straight did your hair get and how quickly, and how much damage (if any) did it do to your hair? Any help is MUCH appreciated!
