I really don't know. But one of my cats drools as well, and one of my parents' cats drools as well. Both of the drooling cats are orange. Probably has nothing to do with it, but when you have had 11 cats and there were only two orange cats, and they both drooled, you have to wonder Smile

I'm not sure why your cat drools. My cat drools as well. And I've yet to figure out why. I think it is because she is orange. Smile My parents have an orange cat that drools as well. Between my parents and myself we have had 14 cats, and only 2 of them are droolers. Both are orange. Coincidence? I think not!

I have the youngest and the runt of two purebread Persian showcats. Zacharie. He is only 11 pounds 4 years old but absolutely gorgeous. He is white with light grey back stripe. He drools only when snuggling and purring for 5 minutes getting his favorite scratches lying on my upper chest Smile .

My grey long hair just began drooling, and i don't know why either. It's not something she's been doing all along. She just started it yesterday. I was wondering if perhaps she may of eating something hot and burned her mouth or gotten into something she shouldn't have....I don't see how though since she doesn't go out and I keep all dangerous items in closed cabinets. I just find it so weird that she'd all of a sudden start drooling. And it's not just when she's purring or happy, it seems constant. Any ideas?

    Thank you very much

well my cat drools anytime I look at her, talk to her, touch her, etc. I was quiet alarmed at first because the drool was on-going drips and they were very watery. I am finding it to be very annoying because when I pay attention to her she gets me all wet. She never did this before and she started doing it after she had a litter of kittens and hasn't stopped. What could have started this drooling mania??!!

If a cat drools all it's life it is sometimes because it was very young when it left it's mother. We had one like this years ago. When they start later in life - having had kittens etc - it could be a sign of something wrong with her teeth. One of my cats had to have her teeth removed after her kittens were born! Sad
