My cat is healthy and normal..2 days ago i let her go outside alone, and when i opened the door she was sitting in a strange place (its a apartment complex kind of) and she never ever will go there..(by the parking lot) anyways i took her inside and the next day she was snuggling next to me when i noticed all her whiskers are short every single one..did someone do this to her or did they just fall out? because they used to be long. (she is 3 yrs old)
if someone knows something it would be very helpful! thanku!!

Whiskers don't just fall out as far as I know.... I've had my share of cats growing up. Someone might have done this to her.

Or perhaps she burnt them or cut them in something? caught them in an extraction fan or something? It would seem strange that someone would do that, or that the cat would let them!

Huh Hum. I am really ashamed to admit to this but....

My parents had two huge white cats when I was little. A boy and a girl. One of them walked in one day looking very odd. My mother couldn't work out what it was about him at first. Then she noticed. The cat had.....

    NO WHISKERS AT ALL!!!!

I am truly truly sorry for that dear old cat and for the terrible ordeal he went through having to look so odd for a time after I cut off his whiskers with scissors! But I was very little and had watched my dad shave I guess. And it was the boy cat I chose. And they did grow back......

    Eventually!!!

    Confused

I hang my head in shame. Never will I cut off an animal's whiskers again. Kids, cats and scissors do not go together well. Shall I tell you my husband's confession to cat cruelty as a child? His father had put up some nesting boxes in the garden. Some Blue Tits had decided to lay their eggs there. He used to watch the mummy bird bring food back for the little chicks each day. Loving them. One day a neighbour's cat managed to menace the little chicks and killed the lot. Enraged, this then little boy found the guilty cat. And a few others besides. So one by one he shut them in the shed till there were about 4 in all. Then he went on another hunt. This time for a terrible Terrier he knew that ran around the district. In the shed he went with the cats. And he walked away leaving blood curdling screams and yells coming from the garden shed and fur flying everywhere. I guess I should say the animals were all OK when the father let them all out screaming and running for their lives. A bit shaken, but OK.
