Anyone know a hack to make this region free at all? It was bought from my local Safeway store and they sold heaps so hopefully, some1 out there has some info )

Hi TiaMariaGirl.

Here's the info you need.

1. Open the DVD tray, be sure to be in stop mode.
2. Now press SETUP KEY.
3. Now press NEXT , PREV , NEXT , PREV.
4. On screen you will see VERSION 2.
5. Select 255 for Region Free.
6. Press up & down & you will see "Ver 3001" & "Ver 5001".
7. Press Next to change the versions to "3000" & "5000".
8. Press Setup Key to save settings.
9. Voila, a DVD player that plays all regions & will now play VCD copies & SVCD copies too.

Any problems or queries let me know.

Hey Alex. Cheers 4 the info. Have tried this and it works but just one tiny problem - all my region 1's play in Black and White / NE tips on this?

Yeah, sounds like your TV might not be NTSC compatible.. Have you checked this at all ? is it a fairly new TV, or do you know someone who definitely has an NTSC compatible TV at all you could whip ya DVD player round to theirs to test it on ??
Just in case ya not up to speed NTSC is the American format, British is PAL..

I managed to follow all the steps but my player still says wrong disc!

I have 2 good copies on DVD that have worked on other players. Any suggestions?
