    Hi everyone

I have been cantering for about a year. Im fine on forward horses, but sometimes I ride quite a stubern horse that won't canter or you only get a couple of paces, then he stops and goes into trot. Is this something Im doing or is the horse just stubern? Crying or Very sad

If the horse is just stubborn, I suggest the moment you get a canter you squeeze with your legs and if you feel him slowing back into trot, give him a tap with your whip or a firm kick. You have to listen closely and be aware of your horse, in situations like this especially. Alternatively, he could have badly fitting tack but my guess is he's just plain lazy Laughing
