Don't they smell a bit bad? And doesn't it hurt the fish when they swallow a big sharp hook?
I hope one day the fish start hunting people and then you'll all know how cruel it is!

99% OF THE TIME THE FISH IS HOOKED IN THE LIPS. WHERE THERE IS NO PAIN RESEPTORS OR NERVE ENDINGS. ANGLING IS THE BIGGEST PARTICIPATION SPORT IN THE COUNTRY.
EVERY ANGLER PAYS A ROD LICENCE. THE REVENUES FROM THIS GOES TO KEEPING THE UK RIVERS AND CANALS CLEAN TIDY AND ALSO PROTECTS THE WILDLIFE THAT RESIDES THERE. YOU WOULD BE BETTER ARGUING WITH THE LARGE COMPANIES THAT DUMP CHEMICALS IN THE WATER WHICH KILLS ALL LIFE IN IT.
Without fishing the river thames would have no fish swimming in it. around ten years ago the first salmon in over 150 years swam up the thames. This has been attributed to the ongoing cleanup and depolution work which has been payed for out of rod licences.
My point is the end justifies the means
let anglers fish
let shooters shoot
and let everyone enjoy nature because of it! -

My wheelie bin is full of maggots. Are they suitable for fishing? -

I used to breed maggots. Gozzers to be precise. Prizewinning bait! It is not the maggots that smell, it is the rotting feed. After riddling, no smell whatsoever.
