They are all good, but nothing beats Syd Barratt (Pink Floyd) when it comes to ground-breaking and thought-provoking song lyrics. My favourite:

Of coarse the greatest lyric ever written is "dude looks like a lady" lol just kidding but i do love aerosmith as you can see...But seriously one of the best lyrics ever written was by Bob Segar, my favorite being "Started hummin' a song from 1962, aint it funny how the night moves...when you just dont seem to have as much to lose, aint it funny how the night moves" yup thats my story n im stickin to it.
