There are sooo many possibilities but, what does it for you?
A couple of my personal faves (off the top of my head) include:
"What she said/is I smoke/because I'm hoping for an early death/and I need to cling to something" - "What She Said" by the Smiths
"Stop making me older, start making me new" - "High Rising" by Suede -

If any of you have ever heard of Regina Spektor, then u would know that ANY of her lyrics are amazing and beautiful... here are a few examples for those of you who have yet to discover the magic...
"The food that I’m eating
Is suddenly tasteless
I know I’m alone now
I know what it tastes like
So break me to small parts
Let go in small doses
But spare some for spare parts
There might be some good ones"
(Ode To Divorce from Soviet Kitsch)
"And people make you nervous
You'd think the world is ending,
And everybody's features have somehow started blending
And everything is plastic
And everyone's sarcastic
And all your food is frozen,
It needs to be defrosted"
(Ghost Of Corporate Future from Soviet Kitsch)
Also i love the Eels song "Hey Man"...
"Do you know what it's like to care too much
About someone that you're never gonna get to touch
Hey man, now you're really living
Have you ever sat down on the fresh cut grass
And thought about the moment and when it will pass
Hey man, now you're really living"
(from Blinking Lights And Other Revelations disc2) -

They are all good, but nothing beats Syd Barratt (Pink Floyd) when it comes to ground-breaking and thought-provoking song lyrics. My favourite:
"I've got a mouse and he doesn't have a house, I don't know why I call him Gerald. He's getting rather old but he's a good mouse".
Bike, Pink Floyd.
... need I say more?

Of coarse the greatest lyric ever written is "dude looks like a lady" lol just kidding but i do love aerosmith as you can see...But seriously one of the best lyrics ever written was by Bob Segar, my favorite being "Started hummin' a song from 1962, aint it funny how the night moves...when you just dont seem to have as much to lose, aint it funny how the night moves"
yup thats my story n im stickin to it. -

Hmm...there's "1000 Words" by Jade from Sweetbox..."Too Bad" & "Flowerstandman" by Dido...etc. (I can't remember now).
This is the "Flowerstand Man"---
" 'Bout a month ago I'd never seen your face
I'd never heard your voice
'Bout a month ago
I am a careful hunter
And I had to search
Before I found your love
'Bout a month ago
Are you my boy or the Flowerstand Man
You bought such colour to this place
Are you my boy or the Flowerstand Man
With you I am laid back
I don't care if every River runs so dry
I don't care if every Species were to die
I don't care about the Ozone layer
I wouldn't notice if it wasn't there
Oh no
I don't care if we sell Coke to Africa
I don't care about apartheid
I wouldn't notice if it all get better
I don't care about the starving who've died
Your my boy when the way you live and breathe
I don't care about anything but you
Your my boy when the way you live and breathe
I don't care about anything
But you" -
