Recording mp3 to cd on Philips cd recorder

Hello there.

My dad is wanting to purchase a Philips cd recorder so that he can make up his own cds of his favourite tracks of different artistes.

However he has a number of pc recorded discs with, for example, 280 mp3 tracks on them.

Can anyone suggest/advise whether he can pick and record these straight to cd to play on his home cd player?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Both Nero and Easy CD (these are the most commonly used packages) can create audio cds from MP3s and or WAV files.
