Hack required for HITACHI HTD-K170

I know we've had a 'hack' that doesn't work, I know we've got multiple postings on multiple forums but what we don't have is an answer.



I've tried the following so far:-

1) Contacted Hitachi to try and bluff a hack out of them, they told me they aren't authorised to give out that information (success - NONE)

2) Searched the web, http://www.beststuff.co.uk/hitachi_htd-k170.htm reckon they have a hack....The Hitachi HTD-K170 DVD Player is multi region via a handset hack that we supply to purchasers. It supports both PAL and NTSC playback.... The hack is the one you've seen posted around the net and it doesn't work, for starters the remote doesn't have a LAST button (success - NONE)

3) I've tried multiple 'specialists' for a mod chip but none have been able to help so far, just telling me no chip is available, which normally means it's remote hackable, I still haven't tried a number I was given (0114 2553702) by Hitachi though (success - WIP)

4) I have no newsgroup access but you can try alt.media.dvd.hack.hitachi, see if you can find anything!



If anyone has ANY information with regards to a hack please let me know. It's a great little player with superb audio so I don't want to swap it out for a cheap replacement.

Has anyone got a hack code for the Hitachi HTDK170 or do you know where I can get a remote control with the last button on?

FINALLY A WORKING HACK FOR THE HITACHI HTD-K170

default settings first - eg. setup/preferences/default then set to reset
on remote:
press open
press setup
press 1,1,1,1,1,0
it will display "OK"

You are NOW region free.
