Why? Why people use to like hamsters or persia pigs(or how to call them?...).I had three rats as pets. They're so funny and absolutely tame! One of them, he-rat called Sanya, likes to wrestle with me, if he wins, he grabbes my finger with his teeth, but he never bit me. And when my first pet [rat] has died, i missed it so much... I couldn't stop crying during a week or two. But if you mean those rats who live in the street, I agree with you. They are really disgusting.

Now I moved and left my pets at my friend, because it was difficult to take an animal with myself abroad. Now I'd like to have another rat, or mouse, or hamster and to know more about how to treat them.

I had a mouse as a pet years ago. It was cute and didn't smell quite as bad as a guinea pig, but didn't live very long. Frankly, if you're looking for a small housepet you'd probably be better off with a hamster or a guinea pig.

I see you are very sensitive person. What kind of pets you like? Dogs? When you'd feed it and it find the meal very taseful, it will snatch out the piece right from your hands, and it seems it may bit you, and after its delicious food is over, it will lick your hands and face to sign it's begging for more. Can you imagine how much dog's saliva will be on your skin? Or are you fond of cats? When she-cat want to appeal he-cat, it screams terribly day and night about a week. When you hear that yell, you can't bear it over one minute. UNBEARABLE! But it is not the worst. Sometimes I loathe myself when I am sweat and it is no possibility to take a shower. If it uses to happen to you, you may hate yourself. And remind: people use to visit WC.

When someone sees a mouse and he/she jumps onto ceiling and shout because of aversion, what would they do in cause of need to go to WC or REALLY DISGUSTING THING? People like that must at last lose their voice(and hearing)...

Why people don't disgust cold, wet and slippery turtles or anoter pets? Pet don't know from the start, where to ease their bladders, and pet's owner must clean after them. Why to loathe warm, furry, clean and smart creatures? Don't think they are vile predators. In difference for it, they may not eat meat, 'cause it decreases their life term. Many rats are very shy. For example, the first time I saw rat pet, it was surprised even more than me.

Fur-coats for kings and queens were made from mice's and rats' skins.

I happen to LOVE dogs!!! And for your information, when they lick your hand there is not really not that much saliva on your hand afterwards, their tongue just feels really wet. Dogs tongues are supposed to be really clean, and if they are injured and they lick their injury, it heals. Now rats, they, if they get the chance dig in the garbage for food, and smart? If you put cheese in a rat trap, SMACK! everyone has their own opinion I guess, but my opinion is that they are disgusting, especially hairless ones.

Guinea pig is too big for me. Now my room is filled with two wardrobes, big bed, phone, computer and ironing table, and I wonder how gan it get in such a small area. The rest of place is just enough to mage two square steps. As long as my mother-in-law [now I live with her] doesn't like pets very much, so I must keep it and play with it in my room. Hamsters... They're cute but usually not very smart. I already have a pel like that. It is called computer.

My first pet was a rat, and I had not much problems with it. I don't know much about mice, rat is roughly as small as mouce, but he-rats use to be bigger than she-rats, if you treat them well. It is smarter than mouse. If you care them right way, they will live about three years, and five years in a very rare causes, but it is a limit.

Be ready to their love to freedom. Even if rat loves you and trusts you, even if you put it onto a high place it can escape. You can call it to play or treat with a tasty piece. But if it is a silly hamster, it will be difficult to find and return it. It used to happen to my friend. Once she got her hamster out from a radiator. Another time she found it in her wardrobe... It can be fatal for a pet.

Finally, it is so pleasant to come home, even tired till death, and see there is someone who wants to playwith you, kiss you, cheer you up.

My husband used my rat unusual way. He woke me up with it. He let it go onto the bed, and the rat had new area to research. It ran up and down and tittled me with its whiskers, this way I used to rise up very quickly. Usually waking me up is a heavy toil. Alarm-clocks are useless for me even if they sound as police siren. Now you see what a little rat can do!

Once it happened a funny cause. A little girl had a she-rat and she bought a little mouse, it was really small and weak. So that rat adopted the mouse ad her own daughter!

OMG how can you not like rats and mice they are adorable, everyone gets the wrong impressions because of books and all that saying they have rabies and other diseases. I have 4 mice, 1 male, Jynx, and three females, Henrietta, Arwen and Miami, they were all supposed to be females but the pet store got it wrong, but thankfully none of the girlies got prego so Jynx enjoying a bachelor life in a 11x18x20” three storey home, he is also way tamer than the girls and loves finding treats in your pockets and climbing all over you. They have pretty neat personalities and are probably one of the best pets I’ve ever had, once I move out I’m going to get some rat boys Very Happy

i prefer rats over mice myself. i advise you to keep a rat or mouse rather than a guinea pig or a hamster. these are more nocturnal creatures than rats or mice and don't like it when they are disturbed douring the day. that is why hamsters and guinea pigs are more aggressice toward humans.
