    That works for me.....but I'm having problems palying back ups on the machine....has anyone tried running DVD+R or DVD+RW on the machine. SOmetimes it loads the disc and other times it takes several efforts.....just wondering????

    i have always had trouble playing cd-r and dvd-r on mine, it seems to be very sensitive and does take several re-loading attempts before it will read the disc, pain really so your not the only one!!

    just tried a dvd-r and got a disk error message first time, after that it seemed to load ok. I did have the same thing happen with a normal dvd once aswell.

    ok here it is how to make it region free.....open drawer on dvd then press volume + key while holding it down press the language key and release volume+ still holding language then look hey presto all thank you's are apreaciated

    It seems to me that DVD+RW works better than DVD+R........i read somewhere that changing the rit type rate to DVD-Rom when burning can help a standalone machine recognise a dvd...so i'll give it a go.

    Wehn i use DVDCopyexpress I seem to get the best results.

    Does anyone know how to override the volume-max setting. I'm hard of hearing and bought the system because it had a headphone socket. But can't get the volume high-enough!
