    Hello,

I recently saw an infomercial for Straight To The Maxx hair straightening system (www.straighttothemaxx.com). I was thinking of purchasing this product to reduce the amount of time it takes for me to blow dry my curly hair. Has anyone used this product? If so, do you recommend it?

    Thanks!

    Marlene

    Hello mrossi,

I read some post from people who had tried the Straight To The Maxx System on letsgetitstraight.com. Maybe someone from there can help you.

it stinks, literally, smalls like burninghair.

I lost sooo! much hair, no wonder they say it takes half the time to blow dry..you will have half a head of hair if you use it!

My hair was normal to dry. colored, but not damaged chemically.

I have super long hair, and it was falling out in clumps, after the test..after steps 1, 2 and 3

when combing , my scalp hurt and it kept coming out.

also this treatment makes your hair very pourous, the comb does not slide easily. it is hard to detangle while straightening...so how cAN YOU POSSIBLY PULL IT OR COMB IT STRAIGHT.

iT IS JUST A PERM SOLUTION...

i used the straight to the maxx product, and while i did not have all the problems these other people had, i would not recommend it. The odor is baaad. The shampoo that comes with it does not lather up, the conditioner is runny. (I need a very creamy conditioner to help my hair.) I have also noticed the texture of my hair is not nearly as soft. (and I thought it was wire-y before.) don't waste your money. Mad

i would not recommend the straight to the maxx product. i do not think i am having as many problems with it as some of these replys, but i do not feel it worked on my hair at all. the shampoo and conditioner that comes with it isn't any good either. the shampoo doesn't lather up and the conditioner is too runny (i need a really creamy conditioner on my hair). I did use a product from avon the other day that seemed to help. it was called curly and chic smoothing creme. I blow dried my hair with a big paddle brush and used a ceramic straightner. hope this helps someone.

I also would not recommend this product to anyone. I bought this for my daughter as a gift as she was dying to try it. She has beautiful curly hair that she of course hates. We applied the product exactly as directed and her hair showed no change at all to her curls after the application. However, we cold not even get a brush through it more that once without it tangling and as we tried to blow it dry it simply frizzed and became completely unruly. After more than one hour of attempts at this "straightening" torture on my daughter's head, I decided it best just to wash her hair and get what product remained in her hair out completely before even more damage was done. After another $30 haircut to remove the damaged hair, I figure I am out about $100 now. I contacted the company about the money back guarantee and unfortunately due to the fact that I purchased this as a birthday gift and did not use it right away, I was past the 30 day period. Isn't that lucky for them. Don't waste your money or put your hair at risk.

HELLO! I JUST WANTED TO ADD MY OPINION TO THE REST. I RECENTLY TRIED THE STRAIGHT TO THE MAXX SYSTEM.
JUST TO GIVE YOU AND IDEA OF MY HAIR...CURLY, (NOT KINKY) MEDIUM TEXTURED AND ITS HALF WAY DOWN MY BACK (THINK CURLY SUE HAIR...LOL)
I DIDNT FIND IT TO BE AS GREAT AS THE INFOMERCIAL (BIG SURPRISE!) MAKES IT SEEM TO WORK. INFACT, I THINK THAT CREAM RELAXERS WORK MUCH BETTER, DONT LEAVE THAT STRONG, FOUL SMELLING ODOR BEHIND & ONLY COST $5-10 DOLLARS. EVERY TIME THAT I WASHED MY HAIR (FOR A ABOUT 2 WEEKS) THAT SMELL CAME RIGHT BACK. ALSO, STRAIGHT TO MAXX LEFT MY HAIR FEELING COARSE AND TANGLED ALL THE TIME. I USED IT EXACTLY AS THE DIRECTIONS EXPLAINED AND IT ONLY WORKED UNTIL I WASHED MY HAIR AGAIN. NO, IT DOESNT CUT DOWN ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT IT USUALLY TAKES TO DRY MY HAIR WITH A HAIR DRYER...AND IT TOOK JUST AS LONG TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR WITH ANY OTHER SYSTEM THAT I'VE USED.
IN MY OPINION THE BEST STUFF THAT I'VE USED SO FAR IS CLAIROL CREAM RELAXER. I CAN USE IT WHENEVER I WANT THE STRAIGHT LOOK. IT DOESNT WRECK MY HAIR AND IT DOESNT UNREALISTIC PROMISES SUCH AS "STRAIGHT HAIR FOR UP TO 8 WEEKS".
MY POOR HUSBAND ASKED ME TO "NEVER USE THAT STUFF" ON MY HAIR AGAIN. LOL... Rolling Eyes
GUYS DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS STUFF. ITS A COMPLETE A WASTE!

I've used the product three times and love it. The only problem is resale. You can't get it, or the distributors can't keep it in stock. It's pretty frustrating.

I am reading these replies in regards to the Straight to the Maxx product. I didn't experience any of the problems these people have. The shampoo lathered up like a normal shampoo, I love the leave-in conditioner and didn't find the odor bad at all, especially compared to the straighteners I have used in salons. The straightener worked for me for about 6-7 weeks. I liked the fact that I could use it at home and it only took 10 minutes to comb through, compared to sitting in a salon for 3 hours for a straightening 4 times a year. I have very thick, curly/frizzy shoulder length hair and my hairdresser liked the fact that I used it too. I'm sure she didn't love the idea of a 3 hour job either. For me, it worked, the only problem I had is getting the product. It's frustrating for me to find something I like and then not be able to get it again.
