you dont have to get them simcards to get the 300 free txt a month or 300free wap mins, alternativley you can call up 02 and advise them that you wish to change your tarrif to the' O2 Online Pay as you Go 'tarrif 9also known to give you 300free txts a month) p.s you'll need £10 credit on your phone other wise they cant do it for you. It will be debited from your handset at the time of the transfer so see its about the same as buying a new o2 genie simcard. They will tel you how long it will take to transfer the tarrif. and also remember to ask them how to get the 300free txts if your not sure.

And yes you can use your money on calls and you can still have your free txts etc, as long as you have some money left on it. all u do is top up £10
