why don't you try some ceramic straighteners i bought some two months ago from
http://www.hair-straighteners.com
i had some GHD's but they wrecked my hair - apparently they are just ceramic coated metal beware of metal straighteners! so when i got my Pro Ceramic Ionic i was well happy that these REALLY DO DEFRIZZ and condition my hair!
Hope this helps! -

GHD, are they or are they not pure ceramic? Back to the subject, I use GHD to straighten my hair, and whichever product I use, it will always go wavy at the bottem and NEVER stay poker straight. How can I stop this happening? -

Try FOX hair straighteners, they're as good as GHDs, but about £20 cheaper. My local salons are using this range instead of the GHDs they used to use and have found them to be fab
See them on www.besthairirons.co.uk -

Hi there. GHD are ceramic COATED. They are called ceramic irons as they have a ceramic heating element in them - and this is supposed to give them same benefits as 100% solid ceramic irons, e.g. the negative ions and the infra-red.
I was told that by GHD themselves when I queried it, and that was the reply they gave me. The thing to beware of with supposedly 100% ceramic irons, is that they might not have a ceramic heating element in them, so you might not get the above benefits.
I believe they were so popular initially as they were the first ceramic irons full-stop, and so people thought they were great.
I do own a pair of GHDs, but have just sold them to upgrade to a pair of T3's, which incidentally are also ceramic coated, but its the ceramic heating element and the coating which make them kind to your hair, so dont worry about them being coated!!!!! -

and as regards stopping hair curling outwards, mine does that too, and here's how to stop it. I find that my hair does that as I have a couple of layers cut in, and they always tend to flick out. To stop this, whilst straightening a particular section of hair, as you get near to the end, curl the irons towards your head - the exact opposite motion to what you would do if you were deliberately trying to flick hair out. This results in your hair curling inwards ever so slightly, but actually means that it stays straight. Sounds silly I know, but it works!
Hope that helps! -
